Dear Diary,
Tomorrow’s the day, our one-year anniversary. Isn’t it great! Inuyasha and I have been together for so long. Sometimes I feel that maybe I’m going to be with him forever, and maybe, we’ll be together for that long too. Oh my goodness, I seriously can’t believe it! And to think I was only 15 when I met him. Now I feel like maybe, just maybe, I’ve found something new. True love…
Kagome walked down the empty sidewalk. Sango watched her bubbly best friend skip in front of her. It was obvious what was going on here. But why was it such a big deal? Miroku was never excited like that, heck, not even Sango was really that excited over one year.
Sango laughed at herself quietly.
“It must be a Kagome thing”
“What was that Sango.” She stopped.
“Oh nothing Kagome, just thought of some funny memories.” She laughed.
She watched as her friend continued her skipping, her hands filled with stuffed animals resembling puppies, a card, and a basket of food. Sango knew these gifts and the pleasant aroma of Kagome’s home cooking weren’t just for anyone, they were for Inuyasha, her beloved boyfriend.
Kagome shrieked as their school was in view; the day had begun.
Already ten weeks into the school year, and everybody’s exciting back to school faces had already turned into tiny frowns. City high was a great place after awhile, but it got boring soon enough, ten weeks enough.
Nothing seemed to please Sango more then the sight of her boyfriend waiting at the small green tables, by himself. It was their meeting spot. Miroku knew better then to have any girl except Sango by his side when he waited there. It was like a legacy, a tradition, and if Miroku broke his sealed promise to his beloved it would be like removing a great king from his throne, complete downfall and corruption; in other words, one the most violent break-ups in history.
Sango laughed at herself as her selfish thoughts got the best of her once again. She walked towards her beloved and they leaned in together for a tender kiss, his hands guiding down her backside, only one of the rewards for keeping up with his promise.
Making it quick, she leaned back, stopping the quiet moment on campus as their cheerful friend ran towards them.
“Have you guys seen Inuyasha?” Kagome asked.
“Um yeah, he went to the little boys room, I think.” Said a happy handed Miroku.
They all jumped surprisingly as the city high bell rang loud and clear, ordering students to their classes. Miroku laughed at himself as Sango’s head was turned before gently rubbing her backside for the last time. He yelped in pain as a rough hand had gotten there before him.
“Only one time Miroku, that’s it.” Sango sneered.
He watched as his beloved walked away off to class.
“Why does she torture me so Kagome?” he cried in agony.
“Well think of it this way Miroku, what would you do if Sango went around touching your butt?” she stated.
“Well, well actually, you know what? Why doesn’t she?” he said, his face glowing with wonder.
“Ugh, your disgusting Miroku.” She sighed.
He watched as Kagome ran off through the school doors, her green skirt flaring through the air. He couldn’t help but watch the young sophomore before picking up his stuff and running to class.
Before opening the doors to her English class, Kagome quickly ran to her locker to drop down Inuyasha’s goodies. She searched through her book bag, looking for her locker combination. Something startled her as two voices where heard from the girl’s bathroom, and feeling curious she walked inside. The voices became louder and she realized they were both of the opposite sex.
“Umm, are you, or you two, okay in there?” she said, after gently knocked on the stall.
“Uh yeah, we’re fine, thank you.” The girls voice spoke.
Kagome sighed in relief before leaving the stall. Everything was fine. She picked up her book bag before finally feeling bad she even thought something was wrong. She walked back in to apologize, but stopped in her tracks as she heard a familiar voice.
“Hey, that sounded like Kagome. You think it was her?” the girls voice spoke.
“No I doubt it, Kagome is too much of a goody two shoes to ditch class like this,” the voice laughed.
That’s when Kagome felt chills go down her spine.
“Inuyasha?” she thought.
She stood outside the bathroom walls, leaving the door slightly open as her hayou boyfriend walked out, shirt undone, hair a mess; followed by the class slut, Kikiyo.
“Inuyasha do you love me?” she asked.
Ok course Kikiyo, always.” He murmured, buttoning up his class collar.
“Are you sure babe, because I don’t want anyone to find out what’s going on.” She asked.
“Neither do I, believe me. If Kagome found out she would have a fit.” Inuyasha laughed.
Kagome dropped to her knees. Nothing could have made this day more horrible. She quickly picked up her book bags ad ran out the school doors. Not only was she devastated by Inuyasha’s quick remarks to Kikiyo, but she was ditching school too, and this she was going to have to deal with when she got home later tonight. But her mind wasn’t focused on that. She ran towards the nearest park, never turning back to face that awful school. She stopped to catch he breath at a nearby park and rested her legs on the bench.
She laid her head on a desk sobbing her eyes out before finally being interrupted by a fellow stranger.
“Hey girl, wanna smoke?” he asked.
“No, leave me alone!” she cried, not bothering to look up.
She then wiped her tears as the stranger carefully walked away to the nearest bus top.
She then focused herself on her own thoughts, and began long conversations with herself.
“How could he do this to me?’ she thought.
“I would have given him everything, my soul if could!” she head screamed.
Her stressful thinking gave her a headache, and she didn’t even realize the young stranger from before sitting right beside her.
“I don’t understand it, am I really too good? Just a nerd, a goody two shoes?” this time she spoke aloud, thinking the strange voice answering her questions came from her head, she kept on her conversation.
“What if I did something bad?” she asked.
“Hey, I could help you.” He sighed.
“Okay, but what if I decided to find a new boyfriend, someone that would really tick him off.” She screamed.
“Well, it depends, who’s the guy?” he asked.
“Or maybe if I was slutty like Kikiyo, maybe he would appreciate me” she hoped.
“Maybe, but Kikiyo isn’t that great, I’ve tried her out a couple of times.” He boasted.
“Wait….What?” she shrieked.
“Yeah, believe me, she’s not that great. I think you could do much better.” He smirked.
She watched as the young man blew small piles of smoke in her face. His smile gave her the creeps; he was disgusting.
*cough
“Wait”
*cough
“Don’t I know you from somewhere? she asked, still nauseated from his smoke.
“Sesshomaru, City High junior. Yeah maybe.” He smirked.
“Oh right, your Inuyasha’s step brother right?” she muttered.
“Yeah, and?” he said annoyed.
“Well I don’t know, I was just asking.” She frowned.
“Hey, so what’s got such a cute girl like you out here, ditching classes anyway. Boy troubles?” he asked.
“I guess so. You see, your half brother, well, he cheated on me with Kikiyo,” she frowned
“Cheated? Wow I never thought he had it in him, that’s good for him.” He laughed.
He watched as the young girl’s face became cold and tears ran down her face.
“Oh, but bad for you. Hmm I see. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that.” He apologized.
“No its okay, all you guys want is some girl to sleep with, I guess since I’m such a goody goody, I could never do that.” She cried.
“Well, not exactly, I like some good girls.” He said softly.
“Name one.” She frowned.
“Well, uhh.” He gasped.
“See, I hopeless!” she screamed.
“Wait, don’t cry. Please don’t cry. Your cute, hell, your real cute.” He smiled.
Kagome watched his face. Was he serious? Out of all things to say that was it? You’re cute?
He watched her face as she began to blush. Nothing really was wrong with her. Sure she was kind of nerdy, but she had a smile to die for, or at least he thought so.
“So, I never got you name stranger.” He smiled.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Its Kagome.” She smiled back.
“Well Kagome it was nice talking to you, well not exactly. More like listening to your thoughts.” He laughed.
Kagome smiled in awe. She had never seen Sesshomaru act like this. At school he seemed so tough and absent minded. He actually scared her whenever she saw him. But today, no right now he was different, almost lovable.
She watched as he waved goodbye, his long slender body putting her eyes in a trance. She stopped suddenly and blushed when he turned back around to find her still looking at him.
Kagome ran home quickly. It was getting late, and she knew the school was bound to call her home to talk about her absence.
She quickly walked through the sliding glass door, not making a sound. But it was too late. As she slipped off her shoes, her grandpa waited by the stairs ready for a quick explanation.
“Where were you young lady?” he questioned.
She sighed. It was only grandpa, and she knew he could get her out of anything.
“Please don’t tell mom grandpa, I was at uhh…a meeting, and it took up all seven periods at school. It was really important.” She smiled. She was very pleased with herself; lets see him question that.
“Alright then, I’ll call the school. Maybe I’ll tell them you got a serious headache flu or something.” He sighed.
“You do that grandpa.” She laughed as she ran upstairs.
It felt great to be home. She quickly knocked her school uniform off, turned on the TV, and grabbed her diary.
Dear Diary,
You could call my day awful. Perhaps horrible, maybe even malicious if that makes sense. Can you believe it, Inuyasha cheated on me, and he doesn’t even know I know it. But don’t worry; I’ll get him back. Oh, I almost forgot. I met this interesting guy today his name was Sesshomaru. He’s actually Inuyasha’s stepbrother, how weird is that? Well we talked for a while. He actually made my day a little better. Maybe he’ll be the one for me one day. Hey a girl can dream can’t I?
All right goodnight now, I’m taking a nap. Bye
Kagome laid her diary on her dresser before covering up underneath her sheets. Tomorrow was a new day, and Inuyasha didn’t know what was coming for him.
“Wait, headache flu?”
“Oh grandpa” she giggled softly at the thought before dozing off to sleep.
