Disclaimer:
I do not own InuYasha, nor make money from this story.
Chapter 1- WTF?
Disclaimer- Sadly, I do not own any of the characters from Inuyasha, as much as I might long for that luxery otherwise. I will have to satisfy myself daydreaming about the wolf prince and the hanyou I adore so much. First off, if you're not a cannon pairing kinda person, this might not be the story for you. Humor, angst, and adventure and action abound, but there's a reason I do what I do. "Second Chances" is in the Inu/Kagome section, but it's also a Kouga/Ayame fic as well, so I do hope you enjoy and furthermore I hope you adore the "twins and the triplets". I know I do.
Chapter One- WTF!
"Let me guess, you have no idea where we are, do you?" A young girl's voice asked as she crossed her arms over her chest, her silver white hair swaying in the gentle breeze. The dark haired boy frowned, narrowing his golden eyes on his female companion as he glared at her.
"I know where we are, I don't know... where... we are." The boy stated, blinking in confusion as he took his eyes from the girl to look around their surroundings. They stood just beside a old wooden well, the forest surrounding them on all sides. It was middle day, the sun high in the sky above them, the leaves of the trees around them a rich healthy green.
"It's still summer... or close to it. Probably spring. But other than that..." The girl trailed off, her snow white ears atop her head flicking gently as they picked up the various sounds of the forest around them. The only sounds their sensitve ears were picking up besides their own breathing was the steady sounds of the forest infront of them. But still... they wanted to get out of the open as quickly as possible.
"See! You don't have any idea either, Kaiya!" The boy accused with a smirk on his lips, crossing his arms over his chest as he looked at her smugly. The girl, Kaiya, turned to glare at him, her own golden eyes narrowing as if to challenge him.
"Shut up Kaori. Now isn't the time. We need to figure out where we are, and how to get to the village. Maybe if we can find Lady Kaede, we can figure out where to go from there." Kaiya said, scratching one of her ears as she thought about their options.
"Whatever. Just remember, I got here first, remember? " Kaori started, his own black ears straining forward as he looked around. "But what about the others? I mean, Koyuki and Kanan aren't back yet. Maybe they found something."
"You forgot Keikan." Kaiya frowned.
"No I didn't" Kaori smirked.
"You can't just pretend he doesn't exist just because you don't like him, Kaori." Kaiya said with a shake of her head. The dark haired Kaori shrugged nonchantantly, as if he really didn't care.
"Whatever. I can pretend. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll get eaten by some bigger demon." Kaori smirked, glancing over at his glaring sister.
"You're such an asshole. Come on, we gotta find them before someone else does." Kaiya said, moving past her brother, pausing to smack the back of his head. "This way... I think."
"Great, just the thing I need. To get lost in Feudal Japan following you." Kaori stated as he rolled his eyes.
"Shut up. Mom told me where to go. Unlike you, I was actually listening to her instead of trying to look up Koyuki's skirt." Kaiya retorted, as her brother turned beat red.
"Shut up! I wasn't doing anything like THAT! I was glaring at your little boyfriend who kept trying to get your attention so you would look at him." Kaori shot back.
"Shut up Kaori. God, you're so immature. For starters Keikan isn't my boyfriend." Kaiya shot back defensively. "I don't like him like that." She said with a light blush.
"See I told you Keikan, keep dreaming." Another female voice said from behind them. Kaiya blushed furiously as she and her brother turned around to see a red headed young girl walking beside two dark haired boys that looked so similar they could have been mistaken for twins.
The dark haired boy with his hair held high in a ponytail glared at the red head, but ignored her, crossing his arms over his chest, a scowl plastered over his face. "Why the hell did you think we'd know where to go?" Keikan asked, glaring at the black haired hanyou.
"I figured your nose would have been more useful that way than up my sister's ass." Kaori glared back, his black ears flattening against his head. Keikan growled, baring a set of pure white fangs as he clenched his fist at his side.
"You want me to give you a pair of black eyes, mutt?!" Keikan growled.
"Try it wolf. I'm not afraid of you! You're nothing up a spoiled whelp." Kaori shot back, baring his own fangs.
"Both of you, knock it off. We don't have time to argue among ourselves." Kaiya snapped, glaring between her brother and the taller boy. Keikan huffed as he relaxed, keeping his eyes narrowed on Kaori as he folded his arms over the silver and black armor across his chest.
"He started it." Keikan snapped.
"That's the way to demonstrate your maturity by argueing like a pup, Keikan." Kanan remarked in his steady calm tone. Almost immediately, Keikan whirled on his own brother, swinging his fist up as if to strike him.
"You wanna start something pansy?!" Keikan snarled.
"Keikan! Please!" Kaiya cried, rushing forward and grabbing his arm. The male let out an aggrivated growl, tugging his arm away from the silver haired female, but didn't say or do anything. He recrossed his arms over his chest, letting out an aggrivated "hmf" but nothing more.
"Keikan, come on. You agreed to work with us." Kaiya pleaded, looking up at him.
"She's right you know. You agreed to... what was the term Mother used?" Kanan paused with a half smirk. "Behave yourself, wasn't it?"
"Shut up loser. No one asked you." Keikan growled.
"Keikan, get off your high horse. You promised Mom and Dad you would cooperate with Kaiya and Kaori. You can't pick and choose." Koyuki frowned.
"Alright, alright already. I smelled humans not too far from here. That's where we're supposed to head, isn't it?" Keikan asked, directing his attention more to Kaiya than to anyone else in particular.
"Yea. Mom said there's supposed to be a village not to far from the well. We can find who we're looking for there." Kaiya nodded, turning around. "This way." Kaiya said, heading into the forest.

"Inuyasha? Why so restless? What is it?" Sango asked, looking up at the white haired hanyou as he stood in the doorway of Kaede's hut, sniffing the air with a growl. The red hakama and haori he was wearing ruffled in the breeze outside.
"I smell demons heading this way... but..." Inuyasha trailed off, a frown crossing over his face. The taijiya turned to glance over at her other male companion dressed in the blue and purple robes. The monk lifted his head, a slightly confused look upon his face as well.
"I sense the same aura, and yet... I sense they mean us no harm. But... there is a number of them. I think it would be wise to investigate further before jumping in unnecessarily without a plan of action." Miroku advised. He sweatdropped as he noticed the doorway was empty, a wind blowing in place where the hanyou once had stood. Frustrated with his friend's impatience, the monk and the demon slayer ran out of the hut, following after their companion.
"Inuyasha! Wait! Don't be so hasty. We shouldn't jump in so recklessly." Miroku called as he chased after his friend.
"Whoever they are, they're near the well. Kagome hasn't come back yet... and..." He growled, his ears flattening against his head. "I smell it...it's different, but he can't hide it from me."
"Hide what? What is he talking about?" Sango asked, hopping on Kilala as the fire cat ran up beside her. She mounted the fiery feline, pulling Miroku up behind her.
"It's gotta be Kouga. His scent is near the well, but it's different somehow. It's similar to Kouga's, and yet... not similar to Kouga's scent." Shippou tried answering as he held on to Miroku's shoulder.
"Kouga? Why would he be out here? I thought he didn't know where the well was. Could he have found out somehow? And could he be waiting for Kagome?" Miroku asked.
"Maybe... it would explain Inuyasha's attitude." Sango replied.
"Shut up! I don't have an attitude!" Inuyasha shouted angrily.
"Right." Sango replied, glancing down at Kilala. "Let's hurry Kilala." Sango instructed her feline companion. The last thing they needed would be an unnecessary fight between Inuyasha and Kouga over Kagome... again. They's gotten into a fight just last week while they'd come across the brown wolf prince and his two companions, Ginta and Hakkaku.
"Hey! Don't race up infront of me!" Inuyasha shouted angrily, but to no avail, as Sango and Miroku disappeared off into the woods.
"Damn it!"
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
"Incoming. We've got a problem you guys." Koyuki stated, sniffing the air as her body tensed up. The others got into battle stances, alert and prepared just as Kilala can sailing through the treeline, Sango and Miroku on her back, Shippou on Miroku's shoulder.
"What the... What's going on?" Sango asked, blinking in confusion as they hovered in the air above the five youkai. "That is Kouga..." Sango trailed off.
"And isn't that his fiancee, Ayame? But who are the others? Especially that lovely fair haired female." Miroku smiled.
"Letcher. Now isn't the time. Inuyasha is-" Sango began, but was cut off as the forementioned hanyou burst into the clearing, Tetsaiga in his hand, in it's Fang form. The blade glowed with power as he gripped the handle, just itching to use it on the wolf demon infront of him.
Keikan however, wasn't impressed with the show, nor was he happy about being mistaken for his father. Least of all his sister being mistaken for their mother. He took a moment to keep his bored expression on his face, his arms still comfortably crossed over his chest, as he eyed the two humans on the flying cat, and the hanyou with the large glowing blade in his hand.
"Idiots." He muttered, and was rewarded with an edgy growl from Inuyasha.
"What did you say you flea-bitten wolf? Where's Kagome? What have you done with her? Who are these jerks? And what are you doing here?!" Inuyasha growled, his fangs bared and his anger rising with each question. Keikan raised a dark eyebrow, but didn't say anything right off the bat.
"Answer me wolf!" Inuyasha demanded.
"I don't know what the fuck you're talking about for one, and it's none of your business why I'm here, Inukurro." Keikan snapped.
"Hey! Don't call him that!" Kaori growled, taking a step towards Keikan, Kaiya glancing back and forth between the commotion and the humans in the air above. If they didn't do something soon, she had a bad feeling things were going to get out of hand.
Inuyasha had been about to snap another insult back at the dark haired wolf demon when the unfamilar black haired hanyou seemed to have stood up in his defense. Not that Inuyasha needed it, but it was confusing as hell. He wanted to know what was going on, and he wanted to know now. He wanted to know who these other three demons were that he didn't recognize.
"Is it me, or is there something strange about these five?" Miroku asked, leaning over to speak softly with Sango. The female demon slayer looked down at the five mentioned, before frowning with a nod.
"Now that you mention it, it does seem odd doesn't it? Do Kouga and Ayame look a little... different to you? Something about them? They look a little younger than they're supposed to be too. That's odd, isn't it?" She asked.
"For one, I'm not Kouga! So stop calling me that!" Keikan snapped, catching Miroku and Sango's attention, a matching frown spreading across both of their faces.
"What the fuck are you talking about yaseookami? What did you do, hit your head or something?" Inuyasha snapped, one eyebrow arched in disbelief. He had no idea what Kouga was up to, but he wasn't about to let the wimpy wolf pull a fast one on him. He could still smell Kagome on him and he wasn't about to just let that go, either.
"God, this is pointless! It's like talking to a wall!" Keikan cried in frustration, his brown tail snapping behind him in aggitation. Miroku's lavender eyes widened as he caught a glimpse of the white tipped tail.
"Wait Inuyasha. I don't know what's going on here, but I don't think that's Kouga." Miroku stated, glancing down at his white haired friend. The hanyou blinked in confusion, turning to glance up at Miroku as if he'd grown a second head.
"Are you blind? Course it's him. Looks like a wolf, smells like a wolf, talks like a wolf, it's a wolf." Inuyasha growled, glaring back at Keikan.
"Baka. I am a wolf, but I'm not Kouga. God this is infuriating. Kanan, do something would you?" Keikan snapped, practically in a bark as he shot out the order to his younger brother. Kanan sighed deeply, closing his eyes as he shook his head.
"What am I supposed to do? It would appear Inuyasha is set on his conclusion, and anything I say otherwise isn't about to sway him differently. Besides, you're supposed to be the leader, shouldn't you be the one coming up with a solution to this little predicament?" Kanan retorted.
"Bastard! You're not any help!" Keikan growled.
"Enough. This is getting out of hand. We need to clear the water and then head to the village. We don't have time for this petty argueing back and forth." Kaiya interupted, taking a step between Keikan and Kanan. Both males turned their attention to her as she spoke, Keikan looking at her out of the corner of his eye as his brother gave his sole attention to the silver haired female hanyou.
"And you. Who are you and what are you doing here?" Inuyasha snapped, turning his own attention to the golden eyed girl. Something about her didn't seem right... and there was something creepily familar about her, both her and the black haired boy. "And you brat? Someone better explain what's going on right this minute." Inuyasha snarled, starting to lose his patience.
"Inuyasha, look at the taller one's tail. I don't know who he is, but I'm fairly certain he's not Kouga." Miroku repeated, hopping off Kilala as the fire cat landed, Sango staying seated as she watched the event unfolding before them.
"What?" Inuyasha asked, glancing at the boy's tail, and the unfamilar white tip to it. Kouga's tail was all brown, but this youkai that looked startlingly just like him had a white tip to his tail. Maybe, he really wasn't Kouga. Then who was he? A brother maybe? Or a cousin? Inuyasha didn't care, all he knew was it was another flea-bitten wolf, no different than Kouga himself. Plus that still didn't explain why he could smell Kagome's scent on him, on all of them, now that he thought about it.
"So maybe he's not Kouga. Then who is he? And why the hell does he have Kagome's scent on him? They all do as a matter of fact!" Inuyasha snapped.
"This is getting old. Look, he's not Kouga, and I'm not Ayame, for crying out loud. He's my brother, they both are. Keikan, and Kanan, and I'm Koyuki. That's Kaiya and Kaori." Koyuki jumped in, shaking her head.
"Ok, fine. Then why do you LOOK like Kouga and Ayame. And WHY DO YOU SMELL LIKE KAGOME?!" Inuyasha shouted.
"We came from the other side of the well. We smell like Kagome cause we were just with her-" Kaiya began but was interupted as Inuyasha whirled around to face her.
"That's impossible. I'm the only one able to go through the well. What the hell is going on?! I want answers... Now!" Inuyasha growled.
"There's no easy way to explain this. We came from the well with the help of the jewel. Kagome made a wish that we could come back here and help you defeat Naraku before..." Kanan started, but paused as he glanced at the others. They were supposed to keep some things secret... so it wouldn't affect the future. But... how else was he supposed to explain certain things?
"We were asked to help you fight Naraku because we're friends with Kagome in the future." Kaori interupted unexpectantly, all eyes turning to him. "As for Keikan and Koyuki, they're related to Kouga and Ayame... " He noticed the suggestive glare the three wolf demons were giving him, before going on. "Cousins."
"Cousins?" Miroku asked, raising an eyebrow. Somehow he highly doubted it, but he couldn't be completely sure.
"Where in the future are you from?" Sango asked.
"About..." Kaiya paused, thinking carefully. "Twenty five years from Kagome's time."
"I see. How old are you guys?" Miroku asked curiously.
"Kaori and I are twenty two, we're twins. Keikan, Kanan, and Koyuki are twenty three." Kaiya answered.
"All three of you? You were all born on the same day, then?" Sango asked. Keikan exchanged a glance with his brother and sister before nodding.
"Ok... so he's not Kouga. But if he's a relative of Kouga's he's still an enemy of mine!" Inuyasha growled.
"What ever, dog breath! See if I care!" Keikan shot back.
"Why you little brat!"
"Wait, so if that explains them, then what about you two?" Miroku asked, glancing at Kaiya and Kaori.
"What do you mean?" Kaiya asked, glancing at her brother uncertainly.
"You look vaguely familar. I can't help wondering... " Miroku trailed off.
"Sorry. Can't help you. We've never met, so there's no way you could know who we are." Kaiya blurted out quickly.
"But-"
"Hey, we need to find Kagome and talk to her. When will she be back?" Kaori asked, glancing at his father.
"Tomorrow." Inuyasha started, pausing as he glared at the dark haired boy. "And if she isn't back by then, I'm going to get her myself."
"Figures." Kaori chuckled.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Inuyasha snapped.
"Nothing. Hey, I'm starving, how about you guys? Kaiya why don't you come with me and help me find something to eat?" Kaori suggested, raising his eyebrows suggestively. They needed to talk about what they were going to do. And how long they were supposed to keep their identities a secret for.
"Alright. Good idea. I think I smelled food just that way." Kaiya responded, quickly picking up on her brother's train of thought, as she nodded her head in agreement.
"Fine. We'll show you to the village, but we still have more questions to ask you!" Inuyasha insisted.
"Sure thing." Kaori muttered.
"Kaori..." Kaiya warned, but shook her head. They couldn't afford not to be careful.
