A New Life
Disclaimer: No, I don't own Inuyasha, or any of the characters.
Summary: Kagome moves in with her sister Kikyo, and her husband Sesshomaru after graduating high school. Kagome doesn't really know Sesshomaru, and is surprised when she finds out that he has a brother. This brother is very attractive, and seems to have something for Kagome at first glance. Will he be able to take it easy on the rude remarks, and be able to tell her how he feels? Or will kagome take the first step? AND where will all of this lead?!? [Lame Summary]
Pairings: Inuyasha/Kagome, Sesshomaru/Kikyo, Miroku/Sango and maybe others.
Chapter 1: A New Life.
"Kikyo!" Sesshomaru yelled as his 5 year old daughter grabbed hold of his long silver hair, "She's at it again!!!"
Kikyo peeked into the living room with a wide grin and chuckled.
"Now now Rin, you know not to grab daddy's hair." She said, winking at the giggling young girl who still had her little fingers entwined in Sesshomaru's hair.
You see, Sesshomaru thought he had the right to tell his wife of 5 wonderful years, that she was an old woman. Now, it was a joke obviously, being as the tall dark haired woman was only 25. Nevertheless, Kikyo just, may have told Rin to 'give a little tug on daddy's hair.'
Kagome stood blinking at the door of her older sister's home with her suit cases in hand. She heard yelling and laughing.
"There is never a dull moment with Kikyo and Sesshomaru ..." She said under her breath in an exasperated tone.
Kagome had never actually met her sisters husband. Kikyo often told her about him over the telephone, and very often heard him giving witty remarks in the background, causing Kikyo to throw something, or yell back at him.
The only thing Kagome really new about this man was that his name was 'Sesshomaru Takahashi,' and he had a high position in some corporation his father owned. She didn't know his father's name, or his mother's. She didn't know if he had any siblings either. Kikyo married him and moved in with him when she was 20, and that same year had a child who they named Rin. All and all, just by the way Kikyo talked about him, and said his name, Kagome could tell Sesshomaru was the love of her sister's life.
The couple lived a few hours away, so unfortunately, Kagome hadn't seen her sister after that. Her hectic school schedule wouldn't allow it, she was involved in way to much. However, she had just graduated, and was to be attending Tokyo University. Kagome needed somewhere to stay that was close to school, so her sister happily welcomed her to stay with Sesshomaru and herself.
Kagome stared at the door. Finally, after the yelling stopped, she knocked, ready to start her new life.
"Woman! Get the door!" She heard a man's voice call from the other side, followed by a loud thump, and a little girl's giggling.
Kagome smiled, 'Hm ... that must be young Rin laughing, I have yet to meet her too!'
Her thoughts were interrupted when a tall man with long silver hair and golden eyes answered the door. He was rubbing a rather large bump on his head, which made Kagome giggle silently.
'Kikyo always was a strong one ...'
Her thoughts were interrupted when the man spoke.
"You must be Kikyo's sister." He said, looking slightly surprised. "Kagome, right?"
Kagome raised an eyebrow, "Um .. yes, how did you know?"
"You look JUST like her ... only younger." He replied smiling.
"Yeah, I suppose I get that a lot ..." Kagome began, "You must be this 'Sesshomaru' I have heard so much about."
Sesshomaru puffed out his chest slightly and smiled, "Why yes, that's me, I bet she says all sorts of polite and wonderful things about me!"
Kagome giggled, "Yeah ... she told me you could be a bit self absorbed at times ..."
Sesshomaru frowned, "Humph ..." Came his reply, "The wench is in the kitchen."
Just then, a frying pan came hurdling towards Sesshomaru, and hit him, right in the head, causing him to fall over.
"KAGOME!" Kikyo called, running out to hug her sister, whom she hadn't seen in years.
She stepped over her unconscious husband and hugged her sister tightly.
"Come in!" She said cheerfully. "I'm making some dinner."
Kagome nodded and stepped over Sesshomaru after Kikyo.
Upon reaching the kitchen, Kagome noticed Kikyo already at the stove, stirring something with a long wood spoon. A little girl with long black hair was hugging her leg, trying to hide behind it. She peeked out shyly at Kagome, and then hid behind Kikyo's leg again.
Kikyo looked down at the shy little girl, who now had a death grip on her leg.
"And here's my pride and joy!" She said cheerfully patting Rin on the head. "Rin honey, this is Aunt Kagome, remember? I told you she would be staying here?" She said, kneeling down to Rin.
Rin looked up at Kaome, who smiled back.
Seeing a welcoming smile, Rin's eyes lit up.
"Hello Aunty Kaggyme!!" She said embracing Kagome's leg, almost knocking her over.
"She takes very easily to people when they appear nice." Kikyo said as she went back to stirring what seemed to be sauce. "And since you are nicer than any body I know, she'll like you, no problem."
Kagome patted Rin on the head. "Nice to meet you Rin!" She said with a smile.
Suddenly a loud groan echoed from the living room where Sesshomaru was formerly out cold.
Rin giggled and ran out of the kitchen, most likely to playfully torment her father a little more before dinner.
"She looks a lot like both of you." Kagome began, leaning on the counter near Kikyo.
"Yeah, she gets those lovely golden eyes from Sesshomaru."
"And perfectly straight black hair from you."
Kikyo ran a hand through her hair. It reached down to her butt, it was perfectly straight, and black as obsidian. Kagome's hair was the same, only it was shorter. It only reached to half way down her back.
"Well, your room is upstairs, the door says 'guest' on it." Kikyo began, "Go take your things up there, and we'll catch up as soon as I'm done stirring this sauce."
Kagome nodded and made her way up the stairs. She walked in to a cozy room. Much like the rest of the house, it had a very homey feel to it. She put her suit case on the queen sized bed and looked around. It had creamy white colored walls, and two windows. The rug was soft, and also a creamy white. There was a large dresser, a flat screen television on the wall, a large full body mirror, and a desk with a computer on it.
Every thing was perfectly neat.
Kagome put her hand on the large television, 'Jeez, Sesshomaru must make a lot of money...'
A/N: Okay, thank you for reading, I hope I didn't make TOO many mistakes. I would just like to say, that Inuyasha will be in this story, he just hasn't made an appearance yet. Also, in this, Inutaisho is of course Inuyasha and Sesshomaru's father, and Izayoi will be both's mother. ALSO I want to apologize because, I know Sesshoamru, and Kikyo at that don't really seem, 'in character.' Well, please review so I know what I need to work on or correct!!!! Thank you!
