Growing Up

Hello! I just couldn’t get this story out of my system and it was distracting me from writing Brothers Promise (other InuxSess story in progress) so I typed it up and posted it as you can see. I really, really like reviews and would love you forever if you reviewed ^_^. But yes anyways I will let you get on with the story, have fun reading!

Story Summery: Sesshomaru thinks he likes Inuyasha but isn’t sure what he is feeling, while Inuyasha wants nothing more than to be ‘close’ to big brother. How do brothers fall in love when there is so much against them, read and find out! AU, yaoi

Warning: Incest, some swearing, and a few more things in the later chapters.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Inuyasha, but I wish I did (cries) I hate disclaimers they always make me sad!

Chapter Summery: Inuyasha is born simple as that. Oh and it gets some of the personalities/looks for characters explained.

Chapter 1: Inuyasha is born

A beautiful human woman dressed in many layers of silk sat down under the tree full of cherry blossoms. Her stomach was round and her body was ready to give birth to the baby inside of her any day now.

Lady Izayoi smiled as she thought of her new baby, was it going to be a boy or a girl? She hoped it was a boy for her husband would be very pleased. Though the human couldn’t understand why InuTaisho would be happy about having another son when he already had one, wouldn’t a daughter be nice?

‘Oh well’ She thought and gazed around the silent garden, it was silent because none of her fathers servants wished to be near her. The other humans in Izayoi’s village did not think as kindly about demons as she did, they even refused to speak with her since she was bearing a demons child.

But that did not matter to her, once her husband had made his lands safe for humans she would move into his estate with him. Maybe then they could finally live happily ever after like in the fairy tales.

Izayoi never told her husband how unhappy she was in her home village or how she wished he would be there in the middle of the night when she woke up with nightmares of a horrible future. She longed for her husband to be there when she needed him or just wanted to see him. The human could feel her heart slowly cracking every time her husband said good-bye.

A single tear slid down her pale skin soon followed by more, she hated this! She used to be a proud woman who didn’t need a man to help her get to her goals in life, now she was sobbing just because she couldn’t see a man. She hated this! What she had become, yet at the same time her hate would turn into love when InuTaisho was near her.

“You are to behave yourself is that clear?” A tall tanned demon asked his 8 year old son who just nodded and stared ahead. The demon lord rolled his eyes at his son’s behavior.

Sesshomaru had not spoken to him since he told his son that they were going to visit Izayoi, Sesshomaru’s new step-mother.

InuTaisho could understand why the boy was so upset, it had barley been three years since his mother died in a demon raid and already his father had claimed a new mate. But he wished his son would at least try to except this.

The eight year old stood straight and proud like a warriors son, and just like a good warrior he masked his emotions so enemies would not see them. But Sesshomaru masked what he felt all the time not just when he was sparring, InuTaisho could never do that even if he tried.

“Well come along, your step mother with be happy to see you” Sesshomaru glared at his fathers back but followed none the less. Even though InuTaisho had been trying to be kinder and spend more time with his only child Sesshomaru refused to speak more that three words to his father ever since he found out about the human.

And he had every right to be angry at his father! How dare InuTaisho marry a human and get the whore pregnant! Wasn’t he good enough? Wasn’t the memory of his mother good enough?

‘Well apparently not’ Sesshomaru thought grimly as he sprinted behind his father.


The journey would not be a long one thankfully, one hour top get to the filthy humans place, one hour of ‘bonding time’, then one hour back to his estate where Sesshomaru would lock himself in his room after a long bath (To get rid of the human stench).

The journey to the human town was uneventful, both dog demons chose to remain silent. Sesshomaru was slightly hoping that he could test out his new sword father gave him for his birthday last week, but so far no opportunities had arose.

“Sesshomaru it is very important that you do not offend any of the ningens here” InuTaisho said softly as they entered the town. All the humans stopped and stared with disgust and hatred at the two dog demons as they walked past.

InuTaisho just smiled politely at the humans and kept on walking ignoring the whispers that followed him and his son. But the demon lord smile soon disappeared when he caught the scent of blood and tears coming from his wife’s home.

Sesshomaru also caught the smell and looked up at his father who ignored him and broke down the mansions sliding doors and raced inside following the smell of blood.

The 8 year old had no choice but to follow, he was surprised that the humans who were supposed to be protecting the house did not attack him and his father. Maybe they were used to seeing InuTaisho and had orders not to attack, though Sesshomaru would not blame them if they forgot those orders. After all, his father did break down the doors and storm into the home uninvited, and now looked like he was going to murder.

Izayoi look short breaths and clutched her stomach, all the stress had finally made her go into labor. The contractions were coming quickly, not a good sign.

“InuTaisho” the human whispered painfully when her eyes locked onto a tanned man with long silver hair up in a high pony tail.

The soon to be mother glanced at the boy next to her husband. Long silver hair, two stripes on each side of the cheek like InuTaisho, and a crescent moon on the forehead. Even in pain Izayoi could tell this was Sesshomaru.

Like his father Sesshomaru was also wearing chest armor, only his outfit under it was white while his fathers was an ocean blue. Sesshomaru’s golden eyes locked on to her black ones, and for once in Izayoi’s life she couldn’t read them.

Reading the emotions in eyes was one of the many talents Izayoi possessed, yet she couldn’t see any emotion in her step son’s eyes.

The human would have thought more about what this meant but another contraction came making her scream in pain.

InuTaisho was outraged, his wife was obviously in labor but no one to assist her as she gave birth. Doing the only thing he could think of the demon lord raced to his wife’s side and picked her up and gently as he could.

“Follow” Was all he said to his son as he ran out of the garden and back to his estate where there were healers and midwives to help his wife. InuTaisho cursed himself for not learning about how women give birth, it was never an issue with his last wife she had Sesshomaru with out making a sound or needing help. But it slipped the dog demons mind that his last wife was a demon warrior not a fragile human (A/n: You wonder how Inuyasha can be so dim at times, well this is the man he got it from)

His demon servants would not question his decision to have a human in the manor since he did save all of their lives at one point of time. Another scream of pain made InuTaisho quicken his pace.

Sesshomaru waited outside his father bedroom, he wanted to just go back in his room and read but his father forbid him to do so.

The screams and smell coming from the bedroom where almost enough to make Sesshomaru gag, but he kept his face straight because of the servants who kept coming by and rushing into the room. He didn’t want to seem weak in front of them by gagging like a pup would at the smell of blood.

But sooner than Sesshomaru expected the humans screams stopped, and a minute later an infants screams could be heard. The 8 year old leaned against the wall and debated one again if he should leave or not, but that option was soon gone for his father walked out of the bedroom grinning ear to ear.

“Sesshomaru come meet your new little brother” before Sesshomaru could object or even glare at his father he was dragged into the room while servants left so they could prepare dinner and a place for the new baby to sleep.

The 8 year old demon blinked in surprise, the room still had the scent of blood among other things Sesshomaru didn’t want to know about but there were two new scents.

Sesshomaru looked at the human sitting up on his father’s king sized bed and found his eyes widening in shock. Though the human looked exhausted she was glowing with happiness, and one of the scents was coming off of her. Sesshomaru couldn’t identify the scent but it was a very sweet smell.

But the other smell put the scent coming off Izayaoi to shame, it was simply intoxicating. And as far as the young demon could tell it was coming off of the bundle in the human’s arms.

Sesshomaru was nudged forward by his father “Go on” InuTaisho whispered and nudged Sesshomaru again.

The 8 year old walked up to the bed and looked at the smiling human once more before tuning his eyes to the bundle that was handed to him.

Sesshomaru took the bundle that was extremely light considering it size and looked down at the round face.

His little brother had the same tanned skin as his father and silver hair like all the demons in Sesshomaru’s family only short and messy. There were more differences between Sesshomaru and his little brother than there were similarities. For instance the baby had no markings on his cheeks, no crescent moon, and there were two small oval shaped dog ears on top of the hanyou’s head.

Sesshomaru’s eyes that showed nothing but his disgust with the baby. Why was he holding this creature that was lower then him? This half breed would never amount to anything even with a great demon lord as a father, and now Sesshomaru was soiling his hands by touching it.

The young demon was about to hand back the hanyou when its eyes opened making Sesshomaru freeze. They were the same golden color as his but so different, they contained innocence, ignorance, happiness, and other things Sesshomaru had none of. The baby let out a gurgling noise and reached up to touch Sesshomaru’s face.

To his surprise and his fathers Sesshomaru accepted this touch and let the soft hand grab onto his chin. Another gurgling noise came from the half demon, and if Sesshomaru didn’t know any better he would almost say the baby was smiling.

“What is his name?” Sesshomaru asked suddenly looking at his father then to the smiling human.

InuTaisho looked at his wife and nodded at her, he had already named a child so it was only fair Izayoi got to name theirs.

The human looked thoughtful for a minute glancing at the faces in the room before an even bigger smile formed on her lips.

“Inuyasha is his name” She said softly and smiled at her husband who had moved onto the bed so he could be at her side.

“Sit down Sesshomaru, you can hold him as long as you want” Izayoi told her step son as she leaned on her husband, tired wasn’t the word to describe how she felt but she would stay up as long as possible.

Sesshomaru looked down at the golden eyes that were watching him intently and moved towards a chair placed near the bed. He would hold Inuyasha, he didn’t know why he wanted to but he did anyways. Plus Inuyasha smelt so good it would be almost impossible for Sesshomaru to leave now.

InuTaisho watched with a smile on his face as his wife and two sons fell asleep. His treaty between the humans and demons were not done yet so it would still be dangerous for his new son and wife, but there was no way he could send them back to that human village even if wanted to.

The future was always a mystery that InuTaisho never bothered to be curious about, but now he found himself wishing he knew what was going to happen next.
