Chapter 1: The announcement

A/N: I am the original owner/author of the story “Hated but Loved” so if you don’t want to read this story because you think it’s stolen do not fear. I’m just on a new account and decided to start over. I decided to re-write this story because no one seems to like my story “What you wouldn’t expect” so I’ve begin to re-write this one.


Inuyasha was perched in one of the highest trees on the castle grounds. He was watching his brother train for the most part but for now he was in deep thought. ‘We fight so much, he acts so cruel to me, but yet I still love him no matter how hard I try not to’ he thought sadly. Suddenly there was a piercing howl that ripped through the sky “Father” both Sesshomaru and Inuyasha said at the same time. It was odd that their father was calling for both of them and they both knew it. Something was going to happen, but they just couldn’t determine what it was. Sesshomaru had left his shirt on the training grounds in haste and Inuyasha watched in lust and admiration as the muscles rippled under his older half-brothers skin. Sesshomaru could feel the lust rolling off of his younger half-brother in waves. Before Inuyasha had any time to react, Sesshomaru had pinned him roughly against a tree. Inuyasha looked up at his brother fearfully “What wrong with you?” he managed to get out. Sesshomaru smiled a rare smile and leaned down to kiss his younger brother fully on the lips. Inuyasha always felt so childish when ever his brother did things like this. He felt like he did when they were young and when their love was new and right. “What are you doing brother” he asked just like he had when he was young.

Sesshomaru smiled again, Inuyasha was the only person who could make him smile. “You know exactly what I’m doing, don’t be so naive my love” he whispered seductively in his young brothers ear. Inuyasha squirmed away from his brother. “He’ll hurt us Sesshomaru, he’ll hurt you and I can’t let that happen. Don’t you understand that I’m trying to protect you? We can’t be together Sesshomaru; I won’t let him hurt you. I would rather die then to see you get hurt” Inuyasha said sternly as he began walking towards the palace. Sesshomaru looked at his brother with a sorrowful expression on his face. Inuyasha’s heart ached, he put his hand on Sesshomaru’s cheek and drew his face closer to his brother’s “Sesshomaru, I love you and that’s never gonna change but I need for you to understand that I’m trying to protect you. I’m not with you because I love you” he said as he brushed his lips past Sesshomaru’s.

Izayoi sat at the window of her husband’s study as she waited for her two sons. “Be patient Izayoi” she heard her husband chuckle from behind her, she said irritably “I’m trying but it’s hard. Dearest, you’re deciding the rest of their lives for them. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru are the two most stubbornness men that I have ever seen in my life, they will not go along with this quietly.” She said in an exasperated tone. The great dog demon laughed heartily “I know my sons better then it would sometimes seem” he said in a wise and knowing voice. Izayoi whirled around and gave him a questioning stare “You’ll just have to trust me” he said knowingly. Izayoi just gave him a very loud “humph” and an “If you say so” and continued to look out the window.

The great dog demon sniffed the air and he could sense two disturbed presences heading towards his study. “They are getting close” he said with a soft smile. Izayoi just continued to hum softly. “Enter” said the great dog demon with so much authority that it stunned his mate who had just heard him talking so quietly. “You wanted to see us father?” they both asked in unison. Their father pointed to the three chairs in front of his desk. Sesshomaru, Inuyasha, and Izayoi quickly filled the three empty seats in front of his desk. Izayoi grabbed Inuyasha’s hand and waited for her husband to begin. “The world is a very dangerous place. But nothing is more dangerous in this world than the men and women in it, be they human, demon, or half-demons. People can be so manipulative when they see a person of wealth and power. Their hearts can be over run by greed and it causes them to hurt the people they claim to love. You are both my sons and my only heirs and I love you both very much, I don’t want to see either of you get hurt. So I’ve made a very important decision for the both of you, I’ve chosen your mates for you…You to shall mate with each other. This is not a request; I am demanding it of you.”

Both Sesshomaru and Inuyasha sat in an uncomfortable silence “Izayoi if you and Inuyasha would please excuse me, I would like to have a private word with Sesshomaru.” He said quietly. Izayoi stood up “Come on Inuyasha” she said softly. Inuyasha looked back at Sesshomaru and gaze him a look that only Sesshomaru could read, he nodded in understanding. Izayoi led Inuyasha back outside to the lake. “I’m sorry Inuyasha, I tried to tell him that this whole thing was a horrible idea, but you know your father he always thinks he knows best” she said in a flustered voice. Inuyasha chuckled “For once mom, the old man was right. I’m not mad at all” he said lightly. Izayoi looked at her son in confusion “Your not mad” she asked curiously and Inuyasha just shook his head no.

Inuyasha sat down in a daze “I love him mom, I just-I-just thought that father would reject us. I didn’t know that stuff like this was common between demons.” He said softly. Izayoi was crying “What’s the matter, ma?” he asked seriously, the airiness in his voice was gone. “I’m so happy for you” she wailed into his shirt and Inuyasha began to laugh “I thought something was wrong with you” he said in between laughs.


In the study…..

“I once asked you if you had someone to protect, do you remember that Sesshomaru?” asked the great dog demon. Sesshomaru had a back flash “Yes, you asked me that the day Inuyasha was born” he said coolly. His father nodded “You told me that you didn’t have anyone to protect” he said calmly. Sesshomaru snorted “I know exactly where this dissusion is going so I’ll answer you now.” His father leaned back in his chair expectantly. “This Sesshomaru has no one to protect” he said rudely as he stormed out of the room. He passed Izayoi as he was heading back out side and he could have sworn that he heard her say “He’s out by the lake”. Sesshomaru walked up quietly behind Inuyasha “Like I don’t know your right behind me” Inuyasha said in a bored tone. Sesshomaru sighed and sat down next to him “Can you believe it little one” he said happily.

Inuyasha sighed in contentment “All this time” he said with a weary smile as he looked up at Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru smiled back at him but for a different reason than Inuyasha “You were wrong” he said with a sly smile. Inuyasha sighed “Between now and forever, how many times am I gonna have to hear this story?” he asked in an irritated tone. Sesshomaru chuckled “I like the sound of that” he said in a suddenly serious tone. Inuyasha was confused “The sound of what?” he asked curiously. “Now and forever” he said but all of a sudden he was really sleepy. He automatically fell asleep “‘Night Sesshomaru” Inuyasha said quietly even though he knew that his brother wouldn’t be waking up any time soon.

For some reason Sesshomaru was under a sleep spell. He’d been under it for as long as Inuyasha could remember. He would just all of a sudden get real tired and eventually fall into a deep almost coma like sleep. Good thing one of the maids was coming out to get Sesshomaru anyway. “The young master must have had a long day; do you need anything Prince Inuyasha?” She asked as she picked Sesshomaru up. Inuyasha just smiled “No Kich” he said trying to hide his amusement. “Tell my mother and father that I’m leaving for a while. Tell both them and Sesshomaru that I should be back in four days” he said lightly.
