New Beginnings
Well folks, this is my first shot at writing here...as well as my first attempt at writing sex scenes. I've been writing for years now, and I hope that my previous experience will make up for what I lack in the "Adult Writing" department. Well, I hope you all ejoy! Oh, plotline first, sex and that fun stuff later!
New Beginnings
Kagome sat at the edge of the Bone-Eater's well, her shoulders slumped as she let the tears roll down her cheeks. How many times will I let him insult me before I walk away? How often must he make my cry before I realize I deserve better and leave him here to find the shards on his own? She sighed in frustration and shook her head fiercely. "I could never leave," she murmured bitterly, "how can I when he holds my heart?" She laughed then, coldly, resentfully. "I can't even leave now...I know they need me...Sango, Miroku, Shippou....even if he doesn't."
She pushed herself of the lip of the decrepit wooden well with a heavy sigh. Shouldering her bag, she started down the path to the small hut the group occupied when they weren't actively hunting the jewel shards. Kagome let her thoughts wander as she walked the familiar pathway. I've been here for so long...everything is so comfortable, so...so much like home. I'm starting to lose touch with my world in favor of the fuedal era. Oh well, when the jewel is complete again I can go home...I can put all of this...I can put him behind me. If only it would work that way...
Kagome stopped in the path as a wide shaft of sunlight filtered down through the trees. She turned her face up to the gentle warmth and smiled. It's so beautiful here, I might as well enjoy it...despite Inuyasha. Standing on her toes, Kagome could see the peaked roof of the small hut, where wisps of grey smoke drifted and curled gently upwards into the blue sky. Kagome started walking again, resolving herself not to show them she'd been crying. She wiped her face clean of the last remnants of tear stains pushing aside the woven grass mat hanging in the doorway.
"KAGOME!" A small furry blob darted across the room and attatched itself to her long, pale leg. Momentarily taken aback, she stood staring for a moment before she bent at the waist to pat Shippou's head. "Hello Little One..." The small fox demon tightened his grip and nuzzled her knee. "We thought you had gone back to your time, Kagome, I'm glad you're here!!!" Kagome smiled and looked up from Shippou to the others inhabiting the hut.
Sango sat across the small fire with Kilala curled in her lap, smiling gently, but with concern shadowing her beautiful brown eyes. Miroku kneeled in the corner, his staff resting diagonally across his lap. The prayer beads wrapped around his left wrist shone in the soft firelight. Miroku opened his eyes and lifted his head to look at her. "Is Inuyasha with you?"
Kagome stiffened and scowled at the monk, "No, he's not. Why do you ask, Miroku?"
Miroku used his staff for leverage and stood, arching his back to work the kinks from his muscles. "He left shortly after you did, he said he was going to look for you."
"Well he never found me..." Which means he never really looked, she thought, if he really wanted to find me, he certainly would have. He's never had trouble before...He's probably gone to Kikyou... Kagome shook her head at the thought, "I'm sure he'll be back soon, he can't have gone far if he were looking for me."
"You're right, I'm sure he'll return soon, but until then-" Miroku stopped short as the sound of his stomach growling announced what he had been going to say. He blushed slightly and scratched the back of his head with his right hand. "Well....let's get something to eat!"
Kagome couldn't help but laugh at the monk. She reached into her back and pulled out some of the food she always brought with her from her time.

Inuyasha sat high in a tree overlooking the Bone-Eater's Well, just trying to digest what he had seen and heard minutes ago. His head spun with confusion and conflicting emotions. He had gone after Kagome, wanting to keep her safe as he had long ago vowed he would. He knew he had hurt her badly this time, for he had scented the sharp tang of salt as she shouldered her bag and left the hut an hour earlier. He knew she would cry, and he wished he could better control his tongue.
He had followed her through the treetops, jumping swiftly and silently from branch to branch as she stalked the path below him. It hurt him to see how her shoulders shook with supressed tears, and the small sobbing sounds that reached his ears every so often felt as though they would tear him apart.
Inuyasha sat in the tree overlooking the well as she cried, keeping watch for danger, as he knew she wouldn't be as alert as she should be, enveloped as she was in her pain. He watched her cry, watched her ready herself to jump into the well, then kick the side in frustration and sit herself down on the edge. His ears perked as he heard her speak softly, replying to her own thoughs. "I could never leave, how can I when he holds my heart?" Inuyasha's heart pounded as he realized the implications of her words. He climbed further out to the end of the branch as she laughed sadly. "I can't even leave now...I know they need me...Sango, Miroku, Shippou....even if he doesn't."
"Oh Kagome," he whispered, "you're so wrong...I need you, Kagome, more than you could ever know."
