A mikos wish
Chapter one, where dreams are made.
Kagome climbed out of the well, looking around to see if anybody is there to great her. It has now been a month since she defeated Naraku, and she went back for supplies after regaining her strength.
“Inuyasha!” she called “are you here?”
She realized that nobody was there to meet her and frowned. She sat on the nice soft grass beside the well and reached for some water into her bag. She felt a familiar presence.
“Hello Kikiyo, you can come out.” She smiled and stood up.
“There is nothing so smile about Kagome. I have come to tell you something you can not find pleasing” Kikiyo’s stare was long and cold, so was her voice.
“I am listening Kikiyo” Kagome got chills down her spine.
“I have come to tell you that Inuyasha is mine, and that you may never ever come close to him again, if you do I will kill you. Now that he’s killed Naraku I have realized that he never meant to hurt, me, and that he still loves me. But it is because of you I cannot go to the place, the place where the dreams are made, heaven”
“No, Kikiyo, it’s not me u should hold a grudge again, I didn’t cause you to pin to a tree the one I… I mean you love” Kagome was almost crying.
“Beware of my warning young miko, for I shall return, and when I will Inuyasha will no longer be yours” The priestess walked off into the forest, and disappeared in the shadows.
Kagome sat back down, a tear slipped, no matter how she tried to hide it Kikiyo was right. She looked down, wanting to cry, but knowing that if Inuyasha was around he’d get mad at her. Ooh, Kikiyo is right; it’s because of me she can’t go to heaven. She called that place where dreams are made; I wish I could go there.
“Oi wench, are you going to sit around here all day?” Inuyasha looked at her angrily.
“I can if I want to, baka”
“Hey, what the hell did I do to deserve being a baka?”
“You didn’t show up on time!”
“Oi, I came, didn’t I?”
“Apparently not quick enough”
And that’s when it hit him, something happened while he was gone, something not very pleasant to make her act that way.
“Oi, wench, what happened while I wasn’t here”
“Nothing happened, nothing all right, let’s just go back to the village” She hopped on Inuyasha’s back, and they went back.”
Kagome spent most of her day giving out gifts that she brought for everyone. In the afternoon, when Inuyasha went off somewhere she went to her favorite spot, under the sacred tree, and gave in to her thoughts. She didn’t even notice how Inuyasha came and sat beside her.
“So what did she tell you?” he asked
Kagome’s eyes widened, for she did not know that he was there. “N-Nothing important”
“Doesn’t seem that way to me wench, come on, and spit it out”
“Inuyasha?”
“Hm?”
“What’s a place where the dreams are made?”
“Your dreams.” He answered simply “even the dead, when they go to their eternal sleep they dream, they dream of everything they never had”
“It sounds so… wonderful”
“Keh. So what did she tell you?”
“She told me that she can’t go there because of me… does u think its true?”
“Keh” he looked at her, he had that rare caring look in his eyes “care to go back?
“Can’t we stay out here a little longer?’
“Sure, wench” he smiled anything to make you happy, he thought.
