The Assembly

"Once again we are gathered. Does anyone have any canidates?"

Haniyasu-hime looked around the room.


Benten stood up and faced everyone. "I do. Kagome Higurashi?"


Aizen-Myoo looked at Benten "Isn't she the one that is in love with the hanyou

Inuyasha? She has been in love with him for years to no effect."


"Yes she is." Benten holds her hands out in front of her and a crystal sphere

appeared. The crystal floated to the center of the room and grew. Images of

Kagome's life flashed before the assembly. It showed her birth, her fiftenth

birthday as she was drug down the well, her battles Inuyasha and the gang. Her

watching as Inuyasha kissed Kikyou countless times, causeing her heart to break

each and everytime. Her care of the orphaned kitsune pup. Her care and

concern of strangers and friends alike that needed her help, she never turned

anyone away. Her comforting the taijiya after her brother attacks their group never

seeming to know his own sister. The many times that she was attacked by Kikyou

never telling the hanyou so he would not loose faith in his love. Even in terrible

pain, wether from injury or heartache she never put herself before others. When

the scenes faded the orb disappeared. Benten walked to the middle of the

assembly. "I believe with all my heart that this poor women needs some

happiness in her life. She always gives and never seems to recieves much but

neither does she ask for much. I think it is time for her to recieve this gift of love.

And I hope you all consent to this as well." Benten turned around and took her

seat among the assembly listening to everyone talk among themselves.


Aizen turned to Benten "How old is she now?"


Benten looked at Aizen "18"


"That is a good age for true love." Gekka-O said. "Although in the warring

states era it does seem old. Most girls in that time are already settled down with

a family."


Benten stood and faced Gekka "Yes that is true but she is from the future and I

feel that the time is right for her." She sat back down.


Sukuna-Biko stood and faced the assembly "I like her she always enjoys my

hot springs."


"I like her too. She is almost always happy except in her dealing with the

hanyou." Uzume turned and looked at the group around her. It seemed that many

were in agreement with Benten. But as she looked closer she could see that

some were still holding out. "How many humans, demons or even us Gods and

Goddesses would still remain happy if we stood in her shoes? I don't know if I

could!"


Haniyasu-hiko stood and faced the assembly "Can someone refresh my

memory? Why does Inuyasha not love her?"


Haniyasu-hime slaps her husband on the arm. "Remember dear, he is the

one that is in love with the priestess Kikyou that had died and was brought back to

life by Urasue. She had used part of Kagome's soul to bring the priestess back.

He still loves her even though all she desires is to take him to hell and to be rid of

Kagome so she may get her soul back." Haniasu-hime looked to her husband as

he grabbed her hand and raised it to his lips and placed a soft kiss on it.


Putting his wife's hand down Haniyasu-hiko turned to look upon the Assembly

"I remember now. "I too agree that she is a good candidate." He looked at

Benten "But if she is in love with Inuyasha how will she love another?"


Benten stood and faced the assembly again. "I believe that after four years she

is ready to move on. She has grown enough to see that it was not meant to be. If

we find someone suitable for her it is my belief that is all she needs. I have

watched her for the past couple of years and found that many desire her but none

have yet to catch her attention. There is a human in her time and a wolf demon but

neither of these are acceptable to her or she would have already chosen them.

The wolf demon has even claimed vocally that she is his mate. Kagome refutes

this at every opportunity." Benten looked around at everyone. "We need a

candidate for her."


Aizen looked at Benten rubbing his jaw. "What is wrong with Kouga the wolf

demon?"


Benten smiled at Aizen "He is not suitable. She only sees him as a friend and

besides I have him destined for another." Benten again looked around the

assembly "She is destined to be a powerful miko. And I have no candidate for

her. She needs someone that is powerful for she will have great power herself. If

her mate did not have great power she would not be happy with him. He must be

able to temper her moods."


Aizen looked around the group "Does anyone have a candidate?"


Benten looked around her hearing no one speak up. "Oh come on, there has

to be someone out there for this poor girl."


Aizen stood before everyone "There is one other. Although getting them

together will be quite difficult."


Sarutahiko Ohkami waited for a minute and when Aizen still didn't speak he

almost shouted "So tell us already who is your candidate?"


Aizen turned his head quickly looking at Saru somewhat surprised at his tone.

"Sesshoumaru, Demon Lord of the Western Lands."


Saru gasped in disbelief "But he hates humans. How do you expect him to

fall in love with one?"


Kishi-Bojin turned to face the assembly "He does not hate all humans. He

took in a small human child named Rin after he brought her back to life using his

sword and now he treats her like his own child." She looked around and found

many surprised faces. "Even if he did have my help a little I do not believe he is

as bad as he leads everyone to believe."


Benten faced the Assembly "She may be a human but we must not forget she

is a powerful miko. This can only aid us in our pursuits."


Aizen stood again "That match would never work. What good would it do to

have them fall in love for him to loose her when she ages and dies and he does

not. I should have thought about that before I nominated him." He sat down and

hung his head in dispair.


Gama watched everyone mumbling to themselves. He stood up and faced the

assembly "I can help you there. I can grant the girl longer life. But her life will be

bound to that of Sesshoumaru's. When he dies she will also. I will also make it so

that she does not age. But in order for me to do this it must be uncontested by

any god. For immortality or the appearance of immortality can't be easily

accomplished." He looked around the Assembly no god or goddess objected. "I

will do it then."


Kishi arose and took the floor again. "Now that life span is not a problem so

what else would it take to make Sesshoumaru fall in love with her?"


Gekka took the floor and faced the assembly "Sesshoumaru is a powerful

taiyoukai. It will be a difficult task. Too bad Kagome is not a Inu Youkai that would

help conciderably. Sesshoumaru is very traditional. And after his father lost his

life due to injuries suffered protecting a human it will be nigh to impossible to get

him to fall in love with one."


Uzume took the floor beside Gekka "That would indeed help. I have seen her

dreams and heard her prayers wishing to be stronger so that she may better be

able to protect her pup and friends and stop being a burden to them."


"How can we do that to her though. We should at least ask for her permission

before we changer her." Hany (Haniyasu-hiko) looked around him for

confirmation.


Hani (Haniyasu-hime) looked at her husband and shook her head. After many

centuries and unlike many gods still felt unease at messing with humans and

demons lives. "Dear we are gods we do not need any permission. Besides

didn't Uzume say that the girl wanted to be stronger. What could possibly be

stronger than a miko demoness."


Kishi rose now and faced the assembly "I hate to throw a stone in the works

but how will her miko blood take to her being a demon. Wouldn't she purify herself

and any children she may have. I do not recall ever hearing about a miko

demoness before. They usually die at birth and if they do survive they are one or

the other not both together."


Sarutahiko Ohkami stood and took the floor. "I believe that I can conjure up a

potion that will bind her bloods together and let her keep her miko powers yet still

be a demoness." She turned and faced Suku "You said that she enjoyed your hot

springs did you not?" When he nodded yes. "That will work then. The potion I

have in mind will be absorbed through her skin since it would be difficult to get her

to drink it. You can add it to one of your hot springs and I will make it dissolve so

that no others may be harmed. How ever you will need to erect a barrier around it

for a few days. But Kagome must be able to enter the barrier while no else can."


Hani stood and faced the Assembly "Kagome is to be given longevity, be

turned into a miko demoness. It will fall to Benten, Aizen, and Gekka to assure

that the couple fall in love. We grant you the resources you will need to see this

accomplished."


Hany stood beside his wife. "To make her adjustments easier on the girl try to

accomplish this over a few days time. It might be too much of shock to her system

to have it all happen at once."


Marisha-Ten took the floor and smiled at everyone. "The night of the blue

moon is approaching and it will make Kagome go into heat if she is a demoness

at the time. That might help with your scheme. For it is known to make demons

act in unusual ways. It will be upon us in ten days."


Hani looked to Benten, Aizen, and Gekka "You will begin today. Now does

anyone have any other candidates?"


Benten laughed and raised her hand "I have a couple more. Inuyasha

because I am tired of seeing him rut with a dead human and since he can't love

Kagome because of his love for Kikyou I have chosen another that will suit him far

better. Then there is the monk and the taijiya, and did I mention Kouga or Jaken."


The assembly just shook their heads. Hani stood once again and faced

Benten. "You have our blessings to do as you must to accomplish your deeds

with the help of your two companions. The Assembly is now dismissed before

Benten adds anyone else. Besides this should keep us all busy for some time."


Benten grabs Aizen's and Gekka's hands and drug them from the Assembly.

"We have to get busy. So many couples and not enough time."
