A New Path

Chapter One:
Through the Well


"I have every right to go home anytime I want!" Kagome screamed. Once again, Inuyasha was being pigheaded and possessive, refusing to allow Kagome to return to her time. ' Why he even pretends to care is beyond me' Kagome thought.
"You don't need those stupid tests! You have a responsibility to help me find the jewel shards!" Inuyasha yelled back. At his words Kagome's eyes widened in anger and hurt. ' So that's all he cares about! Well I'll show him! '
" Inuyasha....Sit Boy!" With that, Kagome turned and ran the rest of the way to the well, followed closely by the hanyou's curses. When the curses stopped, Kagome yelled the subduing spell again. "Sit Sit Sit Sit!!"
Kagome was so engrossed with suduing Inuyasha, that she failed to notice the presence of his older brother. The youkai watched the proceedings with cold calculating eyes. ' I'll steal away the wench, and force Inuyasha to give up the Tetsaiga for her release.' He smirked evily, but his eyes still showed no emotion. Seeing her destination, Sesshomaru stood upon the edge of the well, prepared to snatch her up the moment she arrived.
Kagome turned around to be sure that Inuyasha wasn't behind her, and jumped backwards up onto the well, and came up against a hard body. She spun around to see if it was Inuyasha, and the movement made her lose her balance. The youkai wasn't expecting the sudden movement, and fell over backwards, with Kagome in his arms.
Inuyasha arrived just in time to see Kagome and Sesshomaru fall through the well together. The hanyou ran to follow, but was blocked by the sudden appearance of Kikyo.
"Kikyo...."
"Inuyasha, were you actually considereing going after that wretch? You saw whose arms she ran to. Who she was going home to. You may never have smelled him on her before, but she has been decieving you. She bathes, and then hangs around the male that you do smell. She complains that you still have feelings for me, and then she goes off with Sesshomaru." Kikyo smirks at Inuyasha. ' Sesshomaru's attempt to kidnap that girl came at just the right time, and events couldn't have turned out better for me! '
Inuyasha just stared at Kikyo for a few moments, then came to with a shocked jolt. " Get away from me Kikyo! You're wrong!" With that, Inuyasha ran off into the trees. Kikyo just sat on the well's edge, and waited for his return.
Meanwhile, Kagome and Sesshomaru land at the bottem of the well. Kagome just lies on Sesshomaru for a moment, and then realized where she was. She let out a small scream and jumped off him.
"EEK!! Sesshomaru, how did you follow me here!?!"
" We fell into the well, I do not see what the big deal is. we need only to climb out, and then I will take you hostage for the Tetsusaiga." Kagome's face fell when she heard this news.
' How am I going to get him back to the fuedal era without letting him find out about the new time? We have to climb out of the well and then back in for the magic to work. What am I going to do??'
Kagome hurries up the ladder, hoping that she can convince Sesshomaru that they merely travelled to a different place, not a different time. Before he could follow her, her eyes scanned the well house, searching for anything that would look out of place in the fuedal era. Sesshomaru follows her to the top of the well.
Kagome knew that Sesshomaru could kill her at any moment, so she had to keep him distracted. She thought that telling him about his location would keep him from thinking of killing her. She couldn't let him loose on the modern world!
"We are in a town in Tokyo, where my family's shrine is. There is a hut over the well to hide its true use, and to keep young children away from it." She said, not too quickly, but with enough enthusiasm to make it sound like the truth.
"I see. You said Shrine,so you must be a Miko. I did not think that you were a normal human." Sesshomaru replied. ' That still doesnt explain her scent. There is too much spicy power scent in her for a human, even a priestess. And there is no human body odor. Just a sweet lavendar scent. Who, and what, is this girl? '
"What made you think that I was different from normal humans?" Kagome asked in wonderment.
"You don't smell like a normal human. Shouldn't we be getting back to the other side of the well? My hanyou brother will be ready to kill by now." Sesshomaru said.
' INUYASHA! Why hasn't he come through to get me yet? He would have made it to the well by the time I fell through with Sesshomaru, he would have seen. What is going on, and why didn't I think of him before? Was I that preoccupied with Sesshomaru? Why? ' Kagome shook her head to clear it, and spoke. "Yes, well all we have to do is jump back into the well. But you'll have to hold on to me, because jewel shards are required to go through." She said. And they jumped through...

Ok, I'm new at this and I really want some reviews. No new chapter until i get at least three reviews, preferably more.
