Notes: This story is based on Rumiko Takahashi's Inuyasha characters unfortunatly I don't own them but i did borrow them for this story. Inuyasha and Kikyou are high-school students in the presant day era. Kikyou is a punky chick with hidden feelings. Inuyasha is the same but knows how to open up her heart. The one song that Kikyou plays in this story is called "Dame!" it's from Rurouni Kenshin and it's don 'Sa 'Samurai X.' Rated R for language and sexual content. Maybe a bit of violence coming up.

"Kikyou Akianawanawa, you are going to be late!"

"Alright already, I'm coming dammit!"

"You watch your language young lady!"

"Yeah.. yeah..."

Kikyou rolled out of bed and wiped the sleep from her eyes. Another fine day of school. She didn't see the point of going. She didn't have any friends she had bad grades and she was always getting in trouble. She walked across the room to her mirror. She peered at her slim figure and long black hair. She ran her hands over herself as if she didn't know it was her own body.

"Man, can my boobs get any damn bigger, I'm going to fucking kill someone with these."

She pulled on a white tank top and baggy black pants with straps and hooks on them. She pulled her things together and went downstairs just in time to catch the bus. She always did the same things every morning. Wake up late, get dressed, brush her teeth, put her makeup on, grab her bag, and run for the bus. She grabbed a seat and pulled out a stick of mint gum. She waited for her stop and walked up real slow to the high school. She walked down the same halls and into the same classroom and sat in the same seat in the second row third from the left.

"Miss Kanawa, you're late again. Do you have anything to say for yourself?"

"No..."

"Miss Kanawa, one more tardy and it's detention."

"So... what else is new..." she sighed.

A minute later the door slid open quickly and in stepped a boy. He handed a small peice of paper to the teacher and took a look around the class. His eyes stopped on Kikyou. Kikyou was amazed by him but looked the other way. Still she couldn't help staring back.

"Students we have a new classmate joining us today. His name is Inuyasha Takizawa. And Miss Kanawa, please leave this one alone. We don't need another incident."

Kikyou rolled her eyes and concentrated on the doodles on her paper. Inuyasha took a seat beside her and took out his notebook. She glanced sideways at him. He had short spiky black hair and was dressed in baggy jeans and a Blink182 t-shirt. 'Blink182 he's got good taste.' Kikyou smiled slightly and waited for her classes to be over. She sat down at her ususal lunch table with her friends, No Won and Thin Aire. Inuyasha came over and sat across from her.

"Can I help you?" Kikyou said annoyed.

"No but I just was wonderin'." he said back.

"Wonderin' what?" she said.

"Wonderin' why the hell you're sitting here alone." he smiled.

"Do you really give a shit about me?" Kikyou retorted.

"Well, yeah I guess so. I mean I know I just got here but. I mean..."

Kikyou got up and started to walk towards her next class. Inuyasha jumped up and followed her.

"Well I mean I do, if you don't mind. I... I mean well."

Kikyou stopped and turned around.

"Okay you do give a shit. But why the fuck do you want to know?" she whispered.

"Because, it's fucked to have no friends."

"Yeah, well no body wants to be my friend. Cuz no body else gives a shit about me."

"But I do give a shit..."

"Yeah, you've said that. How do I know you don't just want me for your own amusement?"

"I..." Inuyasha started.

"Excuse me..."

Kikyou stormed into the girls bathroom and Inuyasha was forced to wait.

"Are you coming out here or do I gotta come in there?"

Kikyou opened the door and saw the Principal coming down the hall. She grabbed Inuyashas shirt and pulled him inside.

"What the fuck?" he yelled.

"Shh..."

Kikyou covered his mouth. She had him pinned to the wall and was listening for peoples footsteps. A second later she let go of him and jumped up on the counter.

"What the..."

"Principal, she's the nastiest bitch and you do not want to get in her face."

"Yeah well, you didn't have to yank me into a fucking girls bathroom."
one one come in here really. It's sorta my hideout."

Inuyasha looked around, it was dirty and dark. The one window had mildew and dust on it. He wiped it with his sleeve. It let in more light. He looked at Kikyou, 'We must have alot in common then. I better stay on her good side.'

"Hey..." said Inuyasha, "I only caught your last name..."

"It's Kikyou. Kikyou Kanawa."

"It's pretty, uh... I mean."

Kikyou smiled and realized in the grimy mirror that she was blushing. 'Oh, my god I'm blushing. I think I like him! No way.'

"Inuyasha... what do you think of me?"

"What the hell do you mean?"

"Well, do I seem like you know... evil?"

"No... you don't seem like you are... really like this. You seem like..."

"Like what?" Kikyou was beginning to get annoyed.

"You seem like you put on this tough guy act to hide something..."

"What the fuck. I'm not hiding anything."

"I didn't say you were. It's just that when I came here people warned me about you, I think it's cool how your so self proclaimed dangerous."

"I am not fucking self procla dam dammit! Those people can go fuck a cow!"

"Kikyou... I'm not trying to..."

"Then don't! You want to know what I'm hiding? I'll tell you..."

Kikyou jumped down from the counter and came close to Inuyasha.

"A hurting, bleeding past!"

Kikyou took a long last breath and walked out the door. Inuyasha followed her.

"Hey, look I didn't know... I thought..."

"Look... just don't talk about it okay?"

"Kikyou..."

"What?!" Kikyou yelled annoyed.

"Nevermind it's too soon to be sure..."

Inuyasha walked down the hall as the final bell went off. Kikyou decided to walk home.


After a few days of teaching Inuyasha the ropes, she grew to like him. Kikyou didn't get angry at him as much even though when it came to her soft side she would just say something stupid.

"Hey," she said to him one morning.

"What's up?" he said back smiling.

"I'm getting my liscence next month."

"You're gonna drive? Me too!"

"Really when?"

"Well actually I failed my first test so I'm waiting to take my second one."

"Well, that sucks. You mess up so many things it ruins a good time."

Inuyasha understood that Kikyou was joking around.

"Well you won't have to wait too long my test is this Saturday."

Kikyou smiled and they headed off to class.


Back in the abandoned bathroom Kikyou sat on the counter staring at Inuyasha who was watching out the window.

"Kikyou, remember on the first day I got here? Miss Wantanabe said that you had an 'dentdent' what happened?" Inuyasha aked turning his head toward her.

"Well, one day we had this new girl in class and she was really, really well, annoying so of course I got in her face. But nothing too bad I just told her to shut up and go back where she came from. Well one day in this very bathroom she was in here and there was a fire. Rumor has it that she jumped out that window you're standing next to. After that nobody saw her. People started blaming it on me that I was the one who started the fire."

"Did you?" Inuyasha asked nervously.

"No..." Kikyou said softly. "I almost feel sorry for her sometimes... like I could've stopped her."

"Kikyou..." Inuyasha watched Kikyou she started to let her tears go. He walked over to her. "Kikyou... this... is what you're really like."

Kikyou looked up at him, wiped the tears from her face she leaned back against the broken dirty mirror. He sat next to her.

"You were right. I'm just trying to hide my pain. I just don't want to get hurt. That's why I'm always by myself and that's why I don't have any friends. I thought that if people thought I was dangerous they'd stay away from me. You were right... I'm not really like this, I hate the way I've been doing this to scare people away."

"It's okay Kikyou I'm here to help."

He held her for a while and comforted her.

"Inuyasha, what was it you were about to say the other day?"

"When?"

"That day we first met, I got angry and you gave up on trying to tell me."

"I can't tell you it's still too soon. You won't like it." he said.

Kikyou sat up and looked him in the eyes. She didn't realize she was blushing again.

"Try me..." she said.

"Okay, here goes nothing..."

Inuyasha turned towards her she looked into his eyes. He came closer to her. She watched him move slowly towards her, and their lips met. Inuyasha drew back slowly. There was nothing either of them could say.
