Roommat

First of all, hello! This is not a prologue but instead the first chapter. As some know I already
have a story up and running - which I will continue I promise! Though this is a story I came up
with after looking around searching for fan-fictions people love to review. School romances seem
to be one of those categories, so here is my version of one.

Normal pairing, Inu + Kag, Sango + Miroku and a OOC, sweet and cuddly Sesshoumaru and
horny Kouga. Not sure if I’ll toss in Naraku though, we will see. Rin will come in too, but I am
not sure how old I’ll make her and if she’d be with Sesshoumaru - that will be a readers choice
later on. But until then ~ Enjoy~

Oh yea, PS! There will be Lemons, Lime and solos like always ( sheesh I can’t write a story
without them! And I doubt I’d have many readers if I didn’t...:/ ) I won’t write about minors,
incest and/or rape. I am against it, and I refuse to put that into any of my stories.

Disclaimer: I don’t own InuYasha - There it’s been said and now if you’ll excuse me, I have to
go write some more sick and perverted stuff.

Chapter one, why life never came with a manual.

It was a crisp early summer morning, when Kagome moved out of her mother’s house to go to
the university a few thousand miles away. She had successfully graduated as one of the top five
from her school, and therefor being offered a great chance to attend her desired choice of
continued education.

Her mother stood out on the porch in tears, it was hard seeing her baby all grown up and ready to
fly from the nest. The moving walkwalked into the house one last time, picking up the last few
brown boxes containing Kagome’s belongings.

Mother and daughter shared a goodbye hug, knowing they would meet again soon for the
upcoming holiday. Even though that slip of knowledge was something they both knew, the
Higurashi women couldn’t help but shed tears.

Kagome pulled away first, smiling through her obvious sadness. “I love you, Mama, I will see
you soon.”

“I’ll miss you, so much. Call me when you get there and remember . . . ”

“Finish my homework before running out with friends, I know, I know.” Kagome laughed,
adjusting her clothing. Wearing a simple light blue shirt and black skirt that reached down to mid-thigh, Kagome felt sophisticated. She was after all eighteen and now considered an adult, in all
eyes but her mothers.

Mrs. Higurashi adjusted her daughters’ necklace before drawing her hand back, hesitantly. It was
so hard not to do these sort of thing, it seemed like yesterday that her Kagome was a mere
toddler - running away when she tried to wash away the mud in her black unruly hair. Her little
girl grew up a tomboy but blossomed into a woman with high goals and dreams.

Her baby was going to become a teacher, a professor working in one of those prestigious schools
one day. And you can bet money on that her friends heard this. Every day they met down at the
club. Indeed, Mrs. Higurashi was very proud of her Kagome’s accomplishments and choice of
future. Now if she also could find a nice young man, which would complete the imaf thf the
perfect portrait - that was Kagome’s life.

A car horn was heard in the background, separating the duo. “Well I should go now, Mama, I’ll
call okay?” Kagome said as she backed away from her only parent. Her black heels clicked softly
against the veranda as she continued descending the low steps leading to the awaiting cab. “I love
you, Kagome, remember that!” Mrs. Higurashi yelled after her daughter, as Kagome bent to take
a seat in the taxis’ backseat.

Closing the door, Kagome turned to wave at her mother one last time before the car started to
move. The last thing she saw before she turned to face her new life, was her mother moving back
into the house while wiping her tears away.

Kagome arrived at her destination a day later, after taking a long trip with the train. She was
exhausted but happy, sleeping in a moving seat had never been one of her talents. So now
Kagome couldn’t wait to see her dorm room and meet her roommate for the next four years of
studies. She seriously hoped it wasn’t someone who had a bizarre living style - dragging home
different guys every Friday night or worst having parties in her room.

Praying a silent prayer to the Gods, Kagome entered the building that she would call home for a
long time ahead. According to the moving company her furniture would have already arrived safe
and sound, ready to be unpacked. Reaching for her cell-phone Kagome quickly dialed the
number to her mother, as she had promised. While she waited for someone to pick up, Kagome
frowned. It appeared there were no elevators in this building, but instead stairs - at that she
huffed. Living on the fifth floor wasn’t going to begreagreat anymore, walking up and down these
steps at least three times a day.

Clearly she had wanted to go home for lunch, that way she could have saved her money and
used them for something better and more fun. But now it seemed as if she wasn’t that lucky, ‘oh
well’
she shrugged ‘at least I can’t say I didn’t get the exercise.’ After a few ring tones someone
picked up, that someone being her little brother - Souta.

“Souta!” Kagome exclaimed, pausing on the second floor adjusting the toe of her black high heel
shoes. While tapping the soft tip against the hard surface, Kagome asked her brother to bring
their mother to the phone, saying something about needing to tell her she was safe. “Kagome?”
A very feminine voice spoke on the other end, making Kagome smile. Continuing her journey up
the second staircase, Kagome tried hest tst to assure her beloved mother everything went just
fine.

“Have you met your roommate yet?” Her mother asked curiously. “No, there aren’t even any
elevators in this building so I am only on” she paused - glancing at the floor number that was
painted black on the white tiled wall “the third floor.” How she hated stairs, she reminded herself
never to wear anyh heh heels walking them again. “Well Kagome you know that is a good way to
get some leg muscles, you know you’re way too skinny.”

Kagome sighed, “I am not skinny mom, I am just . . . small.” Mrs. Higurashi was convinced that
her daughter wouldn’t hurt by gaining a few pounds, but it wasn’t that easy. Stopping only to
take a deep breath, Kagome continued her stair climbing. “Well I just called to tell you I am here,
and you have no need to worry.”

“All right, but please call me day or night if you need anything.” Her mother insisted.

“I know, Mama. I am at my room now#821#8217;ll call next week okey?”

“Okay. I love you, my little baby.”

“!!” Kagome stood outside her room door groaning. She felt like she was seven years old
when talking to her parent.

“Okay, okay.” Mrs. Higurashi snickered at her daughters, obvious embarrassment, she was an
adult now but dear God was it hard to accept.

“I’ll talk to you then, bye honey.”

“Bye Mama, love you too.” Kagome replied before hanging up. Putting the small object back
into her black purse, she looted around for the room key the University had mailed her a few
weeks earlier. Quickly her slender fingers came in contact with it, hidden in one of the corners of
her small bag. Taking it out, she unlocked the door without as much of a sound.

Bending the bronze-colored handle, she entered. The hallway before her bathed in soft sun light
coming from a nearby arched window, dressed in a soft purple material. On the floor laid several
pairs of shoes, mainly boots and sneakers tossed around. The apartment seemed quiet though, so
she guessed whoever owned all these, was her new roommate. And from the looks of it,
someone who enjoyed dressing in black leather, she concluded after spotting three black leather
jackets hung up on the hangers.

Removing her high heels, Kagome moved in further exploring her new home. To the right was
what seemed to be the kitchen and laundry room. Continuing down the hallway she encountered
a larger room, which she guessed was the living room for it had a large couch and a flat screened
tv. Two brown closed doors were on the opposite side of the area, meaning two bedrooms - she
hoped.

Deciding to see who her roommate was, Kagome placed her purse on the couch while clearing
her throat. “Hello?” She called, walking toward the closest door, knocking on it softly. “Is
anybody here?” A movement could be heard on the other side, making Kagome jump backward
when the door flew open presenting a gorgeous piece of the opposite sex.

His hair fell long and white behind him, he had no shirt on and her eyes fell involuntarily down to
his naked muscular chest. Blushing a deep shade of scarlet, Kagome forced her eyes up to meet a
now grinning face. His features were soft yet manly, no signs of ever having or any chance of
growing a beard or mustache in the near future - he would have come across as a young boy if it
wasn’t for those intense two amber-colored orbs of his.

Flashing a row of pearly-white teeth, the man spoke. “And what do you want, princess?”
Kagome blinked, no one had ever called her that before. She wasn’t sure if it was an insult or
compliment, she decided it was the first. “My name is Kagome, I am supposed to live here.” She
said matter-of-fact like. The guy placed his hands inside his jeans pocket, a pair of pants that had
seen its better days. Clear rips went over the knees and one by the waist, they appeared to be
washed out and used as a favorite piece of clothing.

“Well I’ll be . . . ” the guy licked his lips as he appeared to check her out. Kagome grew outraged,
how dare he do that . . . stuff!’ “Stop doing that” she sputtered, drawing his attention back to
her face and away from her breasts, “doing what princess?” His golden eyes flashed with
something that made a chill run down her spine. “My name is Kagome, K-a-g-o-m-e,” she
spelled. “Learn how to use it.” To her surprise the guy started laughing, tossing his head back in
clear amusement. “Well, K-a-g-o-m-e,” he mocked sarcastically, “my name is InuYasha and this
is my apartment, so you see there has to be a mistake.”

Kagome gapped, ‘his apartment?’ She doubted that this school made mistakes like this, but
clearly she knew that they wouldn’t pair up a guy and a girl alone - unsupervised - like this.

This arrogant prick in front of her, as she now knew as InuYasha must be right. Even though she
really didn’t like the thought of admitting that aloud, she did. “Well, I don’t get it. They sent me
this room key,” she flashed the carved piece of metal to him, wanting to prove she didn’t break in
or something. The white-haired boy took a step toward her, making Kagome suddenly desire to
back away. She didn’t like this situation at all. However, she stood ground with her hand still
stretched out holding the key.

Her brown eyes widened in pure shock, when InuYasha snatched the object from her hand
smirking. “Now, you don’t ‘live’ here anymore,” he said painting quotation marks in the air.
Kagome’s eyes narrowed dangerously, a low animal like sound formed deep in her throat. “Give
that back,” she warned with a low voice, laced with venom. She cheered inwardly when she
noticed his eyes widened, only for a second before scowling back at her. “Make me,” he taunted
holding the key high above her head.

His smirk grew, as she appeared ready to attack his ass, knocking him to the floor and actually let
out a surprised-like gasp when she did! Kagome smacked the element of surprise literally by the
balls, as she landed square in his lap, straddling his waist. They both bit back a moan, when their
sexes touched through the thin layers of clothing. Taking the opportunity in hand, Kagome
grabbed the key from InuYasha’s hand - quickly yanking herself back up onto her feet blushing
lightly.

She mentally cursed as she moved, feeling her damp underwear. It was clear this InuYasha was a
dangerous man, the kind that crawled under your skin only to stay there haunting your thoughts’
day and night. “Hah!” She exclaimed in fake triumph, dangling the key between her polished
forefinger - and thumbnail. “Keh,” InuYasha retorted moving to stand up holding a hand in front
of his obvious arousal. He turned to walk back into the room he’d emerged from not even ten
minutes earlier.

Reaching it he paused only for a second glancing at the woman over his shoulder, who made no
move to leave. “I suggest you go fix this problem, as there is no way I am sharing these rooms
with you,” and with that InuYasha slammed the door shut, behind him. Kagome let her game
face fall, and exhaled the breath that she didn’t know she was holding. On shaky legs, Kagome
wobbled over to the large creme-colored couch, bracing herself against it. She could only pray
that this was a mistake, living here for four years with that thing, glancing over to the room door
that had shut seconds earlier she shuddered. There was no way she’d be able to live like this,
constantly aroused by an arrogant asshole by all things.

Taking a deep breath, Kagome decided she needed to see if her belongings were in the other
room or something. She hoped they weren’t, maybe they had went to the right address and she
the wrong one. That wouldn’t explain her room-key, however, how could someone unorganized
be allowed to work in a school like this. ‘There should be a law against that!’ She mentally
cursed all while trying to regain her posture.

Several minutes passed before Kagome took her first step without the support of the large piece
of furniture holding her up. Surprisingly it went smooth, and she quickly moved toward the other
door knowing it would be the second bedroom.

Confident no one lived, or was at home, in there at the moment Kagome twisted the black door
handle cracking the door open. The surprisingly large bedroom bathed in sunlight seeping
through the three large curtainless windows, displaying all her boxes and bed. Kagome wasn’t
known to cuss, but she couldn’t help the word “shit” slip from her plump deep pink-colored lips,
this was so not happening to her.

Glancing at her watch Kagome wanted to scream, she had totally forgot it was Saturday meaning
the office fixing the students sleeping arrangements would be closed and did not reopen until
Monday morning, ‘great, just great.’ Kagome stifled a snort as she found herself falling in love
with the rooms set up. It was beautiful and roomy, clearly enough space to place a desk by the
window and be able to have all her clothes unpacked and hung up in the nice walk-in-closet.

Sitting down on her naked bed, she fell backward hiding her face in her hands. For years she had
studied to become a priestess, and now the Gods were laughing at her. ‘So much for being
grateful,’
she thought letting out a madman-like chuckle. This was hilarious, this whole thing
clearly was a bad joke - someone was pulling her leg and when she found out whom she’d purify
their ass. Closing her eyes, her thoughts tiptoed over to the hanyou in the other room - he was
really sexy and that didn’t really help this situation. “Arg.” ‘Why? Why, why, why?’ Kagome
chanted over and over, “why me?” she said aloud.

“Why you, what?” A dark male voice interrupted her self-pity moment, making her jerk up into a
sitting position. In her doorway stood a guy that didn’t look much older than herself, leaning
heavily against the wall while smiling sincerely through his violet-colored eyes. “Huh?” She
replied bluntly, shaking her head as if she was seeing things. Did every guy that went to this
school appear as if they been cut out from a male-model-of-the-year calender? This guy was
really handsome, in a boyish sort of way. He stood as tall as InuYasha did, a bit shorter but not
noticeably. Wearing simple dark blue jeans and a body tight black tee-shirt, which successfully
showed of his toned torso. Tilting his head owlishly she noticed he had his dark hair up in a short
ponytail, and his right ear sported small golden earring-loops.

“Let’s try this again,” he gave her a relaxed lopsided smile. “The name is Miroku, and you are?”
He motioned with his hand for her to answer, as if she was a child. “Kagome . . . Higurashi, and
I would appreciate if you didn’t speak to me as if I was a toddler,” she replied - thinking all things
had gone to Hell for sure now. No one in this ‘institution’ obviously had enough common sense
to be nice to her today, so why should she?

Miroku held his hands up waving them back and forth. “Listen, Lady, I didn’t mean to offend
you. I was just too shocked to see that InuYasha’s roommate was a girl, that lucky bastard.” His
deep kind eyes narrowed playfully as he darted a look out in the livingroom, she guessed toward
the hanyou’s door. Kagome let out a soft laugher, “I am sorry,” she apologized, “it’s just that,
well let’s just say InuYasha there wasn’t the nicest guy on the planet a few minutes ago.”
Kagome pushed herself off the bed, making her way over to the guy in her doorway.

Reaching out her hand in an offered handshake, she could only blink when he suddenly appeared
beside her groping her ass!

“Pervert!” She screamed, planting her fist in his head, successfully knocking the young man to
the floor. Miroku’s eyes swirled as he laid there sprawled on the floor, trying desperately not to
lose consciousness. “Ow,” he groaned, holding his head between his fingers, evidently surprised
by this small woman’s obvious strength. They both heard a door open only to soon present
InuYasha now dressed in more clothes. “Don’t tell me,” he paused only to advert his gaze from
his best friend up to the girl that was hovering over Miroku with a dangerous glare, “he groped
you.”

Kagome clenched her teeth so hard together that her jaw started to hurt, “he does this often I take
it?” She asked not moving her eyes from the lecherous man on her bedroom floor, crossing her
arms over her chest. “Every day,” InuYasha replied before helping his friend off the floor
“anyway, why are you still here?”

Kagome scowled at the white-haired boy in front of her, motioning toward her furniture. “This is
my stuff,” she explained, seeing his golden eyes widening from the information fed to him, “but,
how? I mean, . . . ” InuYasha only paused so he could brace Miroku against his shoulder, which
the black-haired boy greedily grasped. “There is no way they’ll let you stay here, I was here first
and you’ll be the one who has to find a new place to stay,” he continued without taking his eyes
off her.

“Don’t you think I know that?” Kagome threw back, feeling her day just got worse and worse.
“But I can’t exactly call an office that is closed!”

“Keh, well I guess since your things are here you can stay til Monday, but not a day longer,”
InuYasha replied with a softer tone. “If you think I even would want to stay here longer than that,
you’re sadly mistaking,” Kagome spat back, fighting back the tears that threatened to start
running any second. She was tired, upset and hadn’t gotten a decent meal since she left home the
morning before.

“Keh,” InuYasha threw back before dragging his friend out of her room, leaving her to roll in her
misery. He could smell the tears behind her eyelids, and if there was one thing InuYasha hated
was when a woman cried. It called for him to comfort, and right now he’d rather kick her out
than take her into a cradling hug. Hearing the room door close behind them, InuYasha threw his
best friend to the couch.

“Now, why the fucking Hell did, you have to do that?” He barked lowly, holding some back
because he didn’t want that woman to think he was defending her or something. Miroku braced
his arms backward, rolling his sore head between his shoulders. “You know I can’t stop myself,”
he replied as if that would explain everng, ng, which for InuYasha it did. “Well don’t, okay?!”

Miroku nodded, “never again she hits harder than a man.” Rubbing the bump on his head, he
winced, “it hurts,” he complained. InuYasha held back his laughter, “serves you damned right,
you know.” Miroku once again nodded, seeing his best friend going for his second best bud - the
ice pack. This did indeed happen on a daily basis, Miroku couldn’t help himself - women’s
behind were so soft and inviting sticking out like that.

InuYasha moved around in his kitchen, filling a small plastic bag with ice-cubes. Miroku could be
such a bone-head sometimes, even if Kagome was an irritating person she didnR des deserve to be
sexually harassed by the likes of Miroku. It didn’t really help that he, himself, found the need to
want to go all the way with the woman in his second bedroom. Even if this world they lived in
held both demons and humans, they rarely mixed, the result was clearly something neither
wanted - himself.

Shrugging it off, InuYasha moved back into the living room tossing the tied up ice-bag to his
friend. Taking a seat in the couch other end, InuYasha sighed deeply. He was a half-demon, a
misfit like the rest of his kind, not wanted by neither human nor demon. If his brother didn’t have
so much money and a good reputation, InuYasha seriously thought he’d be stuck in some low-class school somewhere not learning anything useful.

Sesshoumaru had advised him to keep his identity secret, the name of their family shouldn’t be
spoken aloud unless he was in deep trouble. The stupid but simple conceal-spell always cast
upon his head, removing the obvious signs of his fussy dog-like-ears. He wasn’t allowed to show
them to anyone, not even his girlfriend - which he had no plans on doing anyway since he was
dating a priestess. She’d fry his ass for sure. She always spoke badly t hat half-demons - making
him wonder why he was dating her in the first place.

However, she was currently thousands of m awa away working in some shrine to gain more ‘holy
powers
’, as she liked to call them. Miroku’s groaning brought the hanyou out of thoughts, “don’t
be such a weakling, it’s not like you haven’t been wacked over the head before.”

“I know, it’s just . . . she’s really strong,” Miroku complained - shifting the now swimming ice-cube filled bag on the growing bump.

InuYasha threw his legs up on the small coffee table in front of the couch, placing his arms
behind his head. The smell of tears seeped through the cracks of her room, making him shift
uncomfortably in his seat. God how he hated when a woman cried, it only served to remind him
of his mother - she had cried every night after his and Sesshoumaru’s father had passed away.

When death was kind enough to take her scarred soul, InuYasha found himself unable to hear
any woman crying without feeling his soul twist. But he’d be damned before he went into that
room, knowing perfectly well she’d probably kick him out anyway. He had to get out of there,
“Mir let let’s go see a movie or something, my treat” he mumbled loud enough for his sore
friend to hear.

“Sure Inu, let’s go,” the black-haired boy agreed, making a move to stand only to slump back
down as his head swam by the sudden movement. InuYasha rounded the couch, coming up to
his friend offering a hand which he took with a grateful nod. The hanyou rolled his eyes at his
friends’ weakness, before dragging the poor boy down the hallway.

Kagome sat in her room crying her eyes out, her day was so horrible. Not a memory to place in
her scrap book exactly, which she’d hoped it would be. She was so tired but too hungry to fall
asleep, and she was quite sure InuYasha didn’t keep any groceries in the cabinets and
refrigerator. However, she soon heard the front door shut and someone locking it, knowing she
was now left alone. And that suited her, just perfect. Even if she couldn’t stop crying Kagome
moved out of her bed looking for one of the boxes saying ‘clothes’ on. She wanted to change
and go buy something eatable, if she could stop bawling. “Get a grip on yourself, Kagome” she
chided aloud - wiping her cheeks with the back of her hand.

Luckily she quickly found her boxes of clothing, ripping one of them open to look for a more
comfortable outfit. Spotting her favorite baby blue, training pants, and zip-up-jacket she striped
from her tight skirt and shirt, tossing them off into some remote dark corner.

A few minutes later a determined Kagome emerged from her bedroom, on a mission to hunt
down some food. Moving into the kitchen she opened the upper white-colocabicabinet, expecting
to find them empty, only to find that they were packed full. Her eyes wid, &d, ‘wow,’ she
thought, ‘I really underestimated the idiot.’

Deciding she’d cook for him as well, since it was his stuff anyway, Kagome gathered what she
needed and wanted. Thirty minutes passed before din dinner was finally done, taking a seat at the
empty black table that could hold six people if two more chairs were added - she bent her head in
a silent prayer before consuming what she had made.

InuYasha arrived back at the apartment after nightfall, he and Miroku had stopped by another
friend’s h, pl, playing some new video-game before they had called it a night. Kicking off his
boots, he paused only to inhale deep, it smelt wonderful. The air was filled with spices, mixed
with waterfall and wild flowers, knowing the nature scent was from Kagome he wanted to curse
but didn’t. She had a unique scent, one that had haunted him all day - even th heh he’d tried
half-heartedly to keep her out of his mind.

However, here he was clearly being assaulted by her and what smelt being food, which he
guessed she had cooked. His sensitive hearing picked up deep exhales of air, knowing she was
asleep. Moving into the apartment, on his way to his room - InuYasha stopped dead in his tracks.
Something white caught his eye, there on the kitchen table laid a note. Walking up to the shiny
black table he picked it up only to read, “there is food for you in the refrigerator just heat it, in the
microwave. Thanks for letting me cook with your things, I’ll pay you back before I move out on
Monday.” It wasn’t signed, but there clearly was no need for that since he knew Kagome had
written it.

Curious what she had cooked. InuYasha opened the cool cabinet only to gasp. There stood a
large bowl of noodles and fried vegetables, how the Hell did she know that was his favorite food?
Idiot,’ He mentally snapped, ‘of course she doesn’t know that. This must be her favorite as
well . . . ’
at that last thought his eyes softened. It wouldn’t have been so bad living with Kagome
after all. She was a girl molded to his liking. Even if she had an attitude problem, refusing to see
that he, himself, had one as well.
