A/n: Well, oki! This is a roleplay between me (kohana) and Shizukanayami ( my best friend). We are posting a re-write of a loooooong Inuyasha ff original we wrote ages ago that sucked. >.< So, we hope this one is better ^^; Shizukanayami (im gonna call her yami here...) is playing: Inuyasha, Miroku, Shippou and Naraku. I'm playing: Kagome, Sango, and Kirara. So we hope you enjoy, and reviews would be greatly appreciated. Also, this one will be a long one, so strap in! This is the first chapter of many, and I hope its not too short ^^;;
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Inuyasha slowly trudged forward with his tetsusaiga slung over his back, its weight even heavier than he's ever remembered it being, and somehow even his own body was hard to carry at the time. The normal harsh, cold look was just as obvious in his eyes, but behind it, the sorrow was ever stronger... His long silver hair hung over his shoulders, even it seeming not light enough to catch the quickening breeze. " Kagome..." he grunted his voice low and rough. "We're staying here tonight."
Kagome quickly turned at the sound of her companions voice, several strands of her shining raven hair raising slightly in the quick bursts of wind. She was worried about Inuyasha, and she freely admitted it. Sure, normally he was a total ass wipe, but after his mysterious leave of absence he had taken for three days he hadn't been his normal self. Something was most defiantly wrong. "But shouldn't we wait until we come closer to the village? It can't be much farther..."
Miroku silently nodded in agreement to Kagome's reply, though he only continued to gaze upon the ground.
Inuyasha began a low growl to the both ofm anm and stopped mid-pace. "No," he answered, sheathing his sword without another word.
Sango, who had been ahead of Kagome and not payingentiention turned, realizing that her friends weren't following.
" But why not Inuyasha?" Kagome argued, placing her hands on her hips. " What's the pint if we are almost there?!" 'So what if I'm worried. I can still be mad. I'll sit him all the way there if I have to...'
He quickly shot a glare ahead at Kagome, though still refrained from answering. 'Damn it, because I said so! That's why!' He scowled slightly as he spread his knees apart, folding his arms between them with a still distant gaze on his face, thinking uncertain thoughts.
Now this scared Kagome. And she would certainly admit it. This was un natural! She just stared at her hanyou companion in shock, forgetting about the small argument.
Sango, as well stared. "Inuyasha...what's wrong with you?" she asked calmly. The hanyou had hardly been his normal self lately, or after those three days...
"Nothing," he answered rather calmly, only briefly looking up to her before leaning back on a nearby tree and crossing his arms.
Shippou finally squirmed out of Kagome's arms and leapt to Inuyasha's side. "Inuyasha..." he echoed Sango, placing a tiny hand around one of the hanyou's fingers in concern. Even the young youkai had been deeply worried, even just after he'd returned and had the strong smell of a woman upon him. And it startled him even more that the other hadn't pushed him away.
Kagome, after the kit left her arms, moved closer to Inuyasha the shock still evident on her face. "Inuyasha... something is wrong with you! You haven't been acting like yourself since...you just disappeared for three days.
Sago nodded in agreement, moving so that she was standing in the enclosing circle of her friends. "She's right Inuyasha," she replied, adding to Kagome's voice of concerns.
"No!" he replied, his voice firm again. "There's nothing." He released Shippou's grasp and stood, folding his arms in front of himself as he began to walk away from the group.
"Inuyasha-sama," Miroku began, placing one arm in front of the hanyou to try to stop him. "Please."
Inuyasha looked back to the two girls and the young kit behind him, finally letting the looks on their faces run into his skin. "Fine," he answered after a long pause, the locking his gaze upon Kagome's eyes. 'Damn it, why did their eyes need to be so fucking similar?!' And now, Kikyou was the last face he wanted to dream of. But then again ... the emotion set the one in front of him apart. He shook the thoughts from his mind as he sat down again, not thinking as he pulled the Kit back into his lap.
Kagome slowly walked over, and carefully next to Inuyasha, and the obviously shocked kitsune tucked in his arms. She lightly placed a hand on his shoulder as she looked over his near emotionless features. "Inuyasha... something did happen didn't it?" she asked, her voice as asked, her voice as soft and reassuring as she could possible make it. She squeezed his shoulder slightly, waiting for a reply.
Sango set Hiraikoutsu down off her back and stood, watching the scene unfolding in front of her. Kirara mewed from her side as she sat down on the worn path, her two tails twitching behind her.
Inuyasha quickly shrugged Kagome's arm off his shoulder, shivering lightly at the brief contact. "Don't," he simply growled releasing Shippou as he realized what he was doing.
Kagome started slightly as he rejected the simple contact. "Inuyasha..."
Sango raised her eyebrows, and quickly glanced over at Miroku to see his reaction to the situation. "Inuyasha what happened?" she added, trying once more to coax Inuyasha into answering.
Miroku bit his lip as he felt the quick changes in Inuyasha's emotions. Perhaps it was too early to ask him... "Kagome-sama, Sango-san..." he briefly barked, his brow furrowing in concern. "Just leave it be."
"Just...shut up," he answered quietly, his original personality flaring beneath his shell, for it hurt him to think of it...
Kagome dared to pit her hand once again on his shoulder. She tried to catch his gaze with hers, the confusion and worry flowing over her features. "Inuyasha..." she whispered, hoping only he would hear. It scared her to think the Inuyasha that had always been there, bossing, and yelling, protecting her from anything and everything. The Inuyasha she loved, and cared for wasn't there. Despite the fact that he onlyonly been acting this way for a day...it scared her! She wanted him back!
Inuyasha briefly glanced over at Kagome for a moment, his ears flicking at the sound of her voice, but turned away quickly when her eyes caught his. "Don't..Don't.." Too overcome with emotions to continue, he simply stood up and repeated his earlier actions but much more quickly and away from Miroku. 'Damn it...Just let me think...' he though as his speed quickly increased.
Kagome still sat, her hand raised in the same position as if Inuyasha was still there. "Inuyasha!" she called, quickly standing, regaining her slipping composure. "Inuyasha!!!" She called once more, frantically now. She quickly ran after him, not willing to let it alone.

A/n: Well there it is! We hoped you liked it! And I will be posting another chapter this weekend, I promise! Please review! ^.~ Ill give you cookies.
