A familiar Stranger
Author’s note* Shippo is not one of my favorite characters…if I don’t mention him in the story; just imagine him hanging around being quite. As much as I would like to, I don’t own Inuyasha or any series related characters. Kaida is mine so if you want to use her, go ahead, just give me the credit. Thanx Enjoy! A review would be much appriciated!! :-D
Chapter 1
“There’s someone around here who has a couple of jewel shards.” Kagome said.
“Do you realize how many times you’ve said that already?” yapped Inuyasha who felt they had been going around in circles.
“I’m serious! I can’t tell you exactly where they are because they’re moving around so much. But they’re around here somewhere.” Kagome said clenching to here soe so that her anger wouldn’t show as much.
“You know,” Shippo said, “Kagome has never been wrong about the jewel shards. You should be kinder to Kagome.”
“Kagome might be able to locate the jewel shards but I’m the one who does all the work you worthless little---”
“Inuyasha! There! Just behind those trees! That’s where they are!” Kagome screamed interrupting him
“I knew that you could find the jewel shards but I was never told you were that good.” An unknown voice said. Inuyasha grabbed Testaiga and positioned himself in front of Kagome, while Mirkou did the same with Sango.
“Who are you? Show yourself!” Shouted Miroku.
A dark figure slid from behind the trees. She was a little taller than Inuyasha and had very long black hair with silver streaks held back away from her face with a clip. She had wings, folded around her like a cape and had yellow cat eyes outlined in a dark red that contrasted her slightly tinged purple skin. On her left hand she wore a ring on her middle finger in a form of a dragon. The dragon’s horns reached up and made a bracelet around her wrist, securely fastening the decorative piece. A sinister wind blew as Inuyasha’s group held their ground and the stranger came closer. Although graceful quiequiet, Inuyasha’s ears could pick up the sounds of the stones settling beneath her feet as she walked closer to them.
“She looks so strong, and yet, she’s sad, who could she possibly be?” thought Kagome.
“My name is Kaida. As you know I have some jewel shards but they’re not important to me.” She said throwing the 2 jewel shards to Kagome.
“Then what are you after?” Miroku shouted.
“I’m here to warn you.”
“Warn us?” said Sango as she peeked above Miroku’s shoulder.
“Yes, but this is no place to talk. We need to find somewhere safe. Out here, even the trees have ears, but you should know that by now.” Kaida said crossing her arms showing her impatience.
“Maybe we should listen to her and follow her Inuyahsa.” Kagome said with sincere curiosity.
“I’m not going to follow a complete stranger anywhere.” Inuyasha said quietly to Kagome. “Why don’t you just move? Or am I going to have to move you?” he shouted angrily to Kaida.
Kaida squinted her eyes at Inuyasha. “You know Inuyasha, I’ll make a d a deal. I’ll fight you for some of your time. You win, you get to choose my fate, I win, we sit around a nice campfire and I’ll tell you my story.”
“Well that sounds just fine to me!” shouted Inuyahsa accepting Kaida’s deal.

Kaida lead the way to a clearing just ahead and positioned herself at one side of the clearing while Inuyahsa did the same on the other side. You could smell the tension and curiosity in the air.
“Why can’t Inuyasha just talk with hery muy must he always be so stuck up?” Kagome thought out loud.
“Well, it would go against Inuyasha’s personality to just sit down and talk with her you know.” Miroku said trying to win points with Kagome.
“You ready for me to cut you in half you liar?” Inuyahsa shouted across the clearing to Kaida.
“If your going to call me a liar make sure I am one Inuyasha!” Kaida shouted back.
“THAT DOES IT!” Inuyahsa said with obvious irritation in his voice.
He ran toward Kaida pulling his Tetsusaiga out from its sheath. He positioned the sword right above hisd. Kd. Kaida just stood there moving her right hand over her left.
‘Why isn’t she moving?’ Inuyahsa thought to himself, ‘she must be scared stiff. I bet she didn’t know I had my father’s sword with me!’ With this in mind, he ran faster toward Kaida, and although Inuyahsa came closer and closer, she still did not budge.
“She better get out of the way before Inuyahsa uses the Wind’s Scar on her.” Sango said.
“I think she’s up to something.” Miroku said simply.
“What do you mean?” Kagome said.
“Notice how her body hasn’t move but her hands shifted positions. She put her right hand over her left, covering that thing she has on.”
Inuyahsa got into striking range with Kaida, when suddenly a blinding flash made everyone’s head turn away from the battle. Even though they couldn’t see anything, they could hear the clanking of two swords. Kagome was the first one that was able to see.
“Where did she get that sword from?!” wondered Kagome.
Kaida had a sword that was shaped like Testaiga but much smaller. The handle of the sword was of a dragon, making it look like the metal part of the sword was the tongue. Inuyasha came from the right swinging his sword at Kaida’s middle. She swung her sword to block Tetsusaiga, and when the two swords met in a loud CLANG she twisted her dragon sword and knocked Tetsusaiga out of Inuyasha’s hands. Inuyahsa had barely enough time to recall what happened when Kaida’s sword was at Inuyasha’s neck. Tetsusaiga flew across the clearing and transformed back into the useless piecemetametal.
“Leaving your left side undefended,” Kaida said, “was the same fatal mistake you did last time I saw you Inuyahsa.”
Inuyasha just looked at Kaida, not sure whether to move or to stay still.
“Please Kaida don’t hurt him! You won the match! We’ll sit down and talk to you, just don’t hurt Inuyasha!” Kagome pleaded with her as she ran in front of Inuyasha.
“I don’t intend to hurt or kill him Kagome.” Kaida said pulling her sword away from Inuyasha’s neck.
The group slowly got close to Kaida and Inuyasha. Miroku looked at the sword in amazement. It glistened in the afternoon sun. The dragon, which was what Kaida had it held by, had the same color eyes as she did.
‘If she was a dragon, I bet that’s what she would look like.” Said Miroku thinking how it would be possible for him to be able to mount a dragon.
“We need to leave here now.” Kaida said suddenly. Without waiting to see if Inuyasha’s group was following, she headed into the sunset.
