Author's Note: This came from a dream I had about Inuyasha and his friends and enemies. And yes, even though Kikyou did find peace after learning who really tricked them into believing that they betrayed each other, I am altering it to match this storyline.

Resolution.
Inuyasha was sniffing the ground searching for the one scent trail to lead them to the one that they were searching for. He crouched as he looked towards the temple. “Why am I on my hands and knees seeking out a smell? It is the smell of Kikyou, the reincarnated Priestess of this temple. We have to capture her and convince her that I am not the one who betrayed her and claimed her life.”

"Inuyasha, any trace of her?" asked Shippou, hopping onto his back.

"Not yet. I'm still working on the scents in my nose at the moment, Shippou." Inuyasha said, as he shoved the little kid off his back.

Miroku was eyeing Kagome once again as he walked to her side and asked, “Care to bare my child, Kagome? I’m sure he will be quite handsome.”

"In your dreams, Miroku!" snarled Inuyasha, as he pushed him away from Kagome.

"Oh, I didn't know you had put your claim on her already," Miroku said, with a grin.

Kagome glared at Miroku and spoke, “He doesn’t but I don’t think I would want you. Besides, if this works you will not have to worry at all about it no more. Have you found her scent yet, Inuyasha?”

“Yes and it is very recent too.” Inuyasha said.

“Which means she been here like today!” yelled Kagome and Miroku.

“Yes. She headed this way,” Inuyasha said, as he headed off towards the same path he took when he was leaving the temple that fateful day fifty some years ago.

Kagome watched as the silver haired, red cloaked half-demon run a head of them. She knew they couldn’t catch up with him if he kept his pace up. “Inuyasha, slow down, please we can’t keep up! Oh damn him; you are going to pay for that! Inuyasha, I have one word for you - osuwari!”

They heard the sounds of tree branches breaking and the loud yelp from Inuyasha. They finally caught up to him to see him fuming as he’s sitting there surrounded by broken tree branches.

“Are you happy now, Kagome?” Inuyasha growled, as he glared at her.

"Oh please don't give me that look, Inuyasha. You were too far a head of us and could have been killed by her if you were not stopped now," Kagome stated, as she looked at him.

“She’s right, you know, Inuyasha,” spoke Miroku, as he leaned against his staff.

All Inuyasha could do was glare at Miroku and Kagome, before he got up and started to lead them towards where the scent led him. Inuyasha paused at the tree that he knew so very well and touched its bark. “She’s very close by.”

Suddenly, an arrow struck the tree an inch above Inuyasha’s hand. He grabbed Tessaiga from it’s sheath and got in front of Kagome and Shippou.

“Come out, Kikyou! I know it’s you! I can smell you!” Inuyasha yelled.

Kikyou’s laughter was heard. It sounded like she was everywhere in the forest. Kagome touched Inuyasha’s arm as Shippou clung to her leg. Inuyasha was trying to figure out where the source of Kikyou’s laughter was coming from. But he was stumped by it.

“Come out, Kikyou!” snapped Inuyasha.

The laughter kept coming. “I’m over here, Inuyasha!”

Inuyasha turned towards the trees where he thought she was at but saw no one standing there. He growled as his eyes and nose started to search out for Kikyou’s form and scent. He started yelling at her getting more and more pissed off as the seconds past by. He feels that she’s just teasing them. “She’ll never stop this tease before she kills me again,” Inuyasha stated.

“Over here, Inuyasha!” yelled Kikyou, as she stood between the trees where the fake ‘Kikyou’ had stood over fifty years ago, a bow and arrow in her hand aimed at Inuyasha’s body.

Inuyasha held up a slip of paper. “This is from your sister, Kaede, Kikyou, a peace charm. You cannot break it. I wish to speak with you, in peace, no weapons. Will you honor me by letting us speak with you in a civilized manner?”

It seem that she was not going to put her weapon down and then she placed her arrow and her bow onto her back as she started to walk down the path towards them. Inuyasha in sign that he, too was going to be at peace in this meeting sheathed his weapon and looked towards Kikyou as she walked towards them.
