Chapter 1: Changing Story
The arrow flew from Kagome’s bow, right at the carrion bird that had swallowed the Shikon no Tamma. The arrow hit, and dislodged the jewel from the pieces of flesh. Seeing the jewel fall from the body, InuYasha jumped into the air and grabbed hold of it. Kagome, Kaede and the villagers all stared in horror. InuYasha had a look of pure joy on his face.
“SIT BOY,” Kagome yelled out. InuYasha’s face gained the look of panic as he was flung to the ground, the jewel falling out of his grasp. Kagome walked over to the prone form of the hanyou and picked up the jewel. “Sit boy!” InuYasha was thrown into the ground for a second time and right when he was about to get up.
“Well done child,” Kaede said with pride while looking at the hanyou’s prone and twitching form.
“Give me the jewel,” InuYasha said. He was now standing up on shaky legs, glaring.
Kagome glared back. “No,” she calmly responded.
“I said ‘give me the jewel’.”
Kagome softened her features. “What is so bad about being a hanyou,” she asked calmly.
InuYasha stood dumb founded. He did not know what to say. Sure, he was weaker as a hanyou than a full youkai. Sure he was still stronger than all but a few youkai. Sue wae was immortal and could only be killed by unnatural causes. So why did he want the jewel?
“I shall leave ye be,” Kaede , wa, walking back to the village.
Kagome nodded her head, not turning away from InuYasha. She glared harder, making the hanyou flinch. “Tell me why you want the jewel,” Kagome ordered in a calm, firm and pissed voice.
InuYasha gulped, he had never seen anything so scary. To top it off, it was a human girl that was scaring him, A GIRL!! Quickly regaining his composure, InuYasha responded, “I want to become a full-youkai. What is so hard to understand about that?”
Kagome narrowed her eyes. InuYasha almost fell back in fear. “You are strong enough as it is. So what is so bad about having human blood,” Kagome asked in a tone that chilled InuYasha’s blood.
InuYasha turned away and his demeanor became that of a wounded animal. “You wouldn’t understand,” he replied.
Kagome’s heart nearly broke at the sight. “Tell me.”
InuYasha took a deep breath. “It’s too complicated.”
Kagome glared at the boy’s back. “Try me,” she sai
In
InuYasha raised his head, but his back was still turned to the girl. “No,” he said. InuYasha began to walk off and into the forest.
“Sit boy,” Kagome said. InuYasha made another falantlant into the ground. “Why won’t you tell me?!”
InuYasha began to cry as he laid there, face down, in the dirt. “Kaa-san,” he whimpered out.
“What,”ome ome asked. She was kneeling to the right of the hanyou, hand on his shoulde
“K
“Kaa-san,” he said sobbingly, “she was killed. Murdered by humans because I was part youkai and my mother was mated to a youkai.”
“What is so bad about that?”
“I was feared by humans because of my youkai blood. At the same time, youkai hated me for my human blood.” InuYasha continued to cry into the ground, his arms hiding his face.
Kagome leaned over his body and gave him a hug. She could not believe what she was hearing. InuYasha’s mother was murdered, he was rejected by both worlds and the jewel was the only cou could ever hope to be accepted. It broke her heart. “But I don’t fear you,” she said.
“That’s because you have this ro on on me,” he said.
“No,” Kagome replied, “I just don’t see what there is to fear about you.”
InuYasha looked up at the young miko in-training. He could not see any fear in her eyes. But then again, it could be a trick. He turned away and curled up into a ball.
“I’ll leave you to calm down. I’ll be at Kaede’s hut if you wish to talk to me.” With that said, Kagome stood up and began to head back to the village.
He did not know what to think or say. InuYasha was completely shocked at how a 15 year old girl could break his defenses like that. She had found the root of his desire to become a full youkai: acceptance. At the same time, she had stated the fact she accepted the way he was: half man, half youkai. It didn’t make any sense.
What was there to like about him. He was rude. He had no manners. He threatened to kill Kagome. He threatened to destroy the village. He wanted the Shikon no Tamma. Yet, Kagome still accepted him like a being whose life mattered.
* * *
Kaede looked up from the stew she was making when Kagome entered the hut. The elder miko sized up the young girl and noticed a changed in her features: fear, feor aor another. Not fear of physical injury, but fear of emotional scars. Looking deeper, Kaede noticed that Kagome feared for InuYasha. This could only mean Kagome had gotten secrets out of the hanyou, his past. A past that obviously tore up InuYasha, most likely when he was just a pup.
“Are ye going to tell me child, or shall I guess,” Kaede said softly.
Kagome looked up at the old woman and began to speak. “InuYasha,” she began, “he. . . has had a terrible life. Worse then anyone could have known.”
Kaede nodded as she replied, “His first love, Kikyou, bound him to that tree.”
Kagome shook her head furiously as she sat down, hands to her hear. “Not that. When he was a child.”
Kaede stopped stirring the stew and looked at the girl with concern. It was obvious that not only did the boy’s past tear him up, but was hurting Kagome. Kaede also noticed something that she saw quite often among the village women, a spark that indicated an affection or attraction to the hanyou.
“If his past affects you like this, one of two things are happening.” Kagome looked at Kaede as the older woman spoke. “One, ye had a life that is similar to his,” Kagome gave to no response, “or two, ye are falling in love with him.” Kagome blushed at that. Kaede smiled a knowing smile.
“I shouldn’t tell you any more,” Kagome said, hiding her face.
“No need child,” Kaede said.
“But I have to ask you something.” Kaede was intrigued by this. “What did Kikyou see when she looked at InuYasha?”
Kaede could not answer that, she did not understand. “Explain.”
Kagome nodded. “Did she see ‘another youkai’, an injured soul or someone that may have loved her?”
Kaede now understood what Kagome was referring to. “I believe my sister thought of InuYasha as just another lonely soul. I do not believe she loved him. However, I believe she hoped that InuYasha would help her get rid of the jewel for good.”
“I wonder if InuYasha knows this,” Kagome rhetorically asked.
“I know not child,” Kaede replied. “I just hope that when he finds it it won’t hurt his soul to any greater degree.”
Kagome nodded, her mind and body exhausted. “Is there anywhere I can take a bath?” she asked.
Kaede looked at you young girl with a quizzical expression. “What is a bath,” the elder asked.
Kagome sighed. “It looks like I’m going to have to get washed up in the river.”
“I have something to tell ye first,” Kaede said, catching Kagome’s attention.
* * *
“Why don’t they know what a bath is,” Kagome said shivg. g. She was naked in the nearest river. Not surprisingly it was the river where she had killed the carrion bird. “Why does it have to be so cold?”
Kaede was sitting on the river bank, watching over the young girl. She did not know why Kagome had to go naked in the freezing water. “Ye had best come out child,” Kaede called from the shore.
Kagome responded by diving under the water. She swam around for a minute before coming up for air. Looking around, Kagome saw that she was now not far from where Kaede was. Then, looking up Kagome saw InuYasha sitting, like a dog, on the cliff. He was staring at her naked form. Kagome sunk her body back down to the neck and cried out, “SIT BOY!!”
“Ahh!” InuYasha a crashed down into the rocky bank, face first, from the cliff he was on. The hanyou landed with his face in the rocks and the rest hanging in the air.
“What do you think you are doing?!” Kagome’s fright and shock was evident in her voice.
“Were ye after this,” Kaede asked holding up the jewel.
“No,” InuYasha said indignantly. “I came to speak with Kagome.”
“You could have waited for me to be dressed,” Kagome screeched.
“Feh,” InuYasha snorted as he sat up. He looked back to the girl he came to see. She now wore the exact same kind of miko robes that Kikyou wore. But unlike the dead miko, Kagome looked more beautiful in those robes. They also seemed to suit her. Looking in Kagome’s eyes, InuYasha saw emotions that Kikyou never had: love, joy, happiness and a plethora of others. To top it off, she was wearing the jewel on it’s traditional necklace. The sight made him forget why he was there in the first place.
Kagome looked back at the hanyou. She saw that his eyes held admiration for her. Delving deeper, Kagome saw that it was her that InuYasha was admiring, at least it was her beauty. Blushing, Kagome spoke up, “What did you want to talk about InuYasha?”
Shaken from his stupor, InuYasha stood up and walked over to the young miko. “Why do you accept me for I amI am? I have youkai blood in me.”
“I don’t concern myself with looks. In my world, children are brought up to pay attention to a person’s personality. Many disregard that and go by looks, but I don’t,” Kagome explained.
Seeing that this would be a private matter, Kaede snuck away to leave two awo alone.
InuYasha’s features softened as he took another step closer to Kagome. Now, both were just a few inches apart, and neither knew what to do.
“What are you doing,” Kagome asked hesitantly.
“I’m thinking about what to do next,” InuYasha replied.
“What actions are you thinking about?”
InuYasha did not know what to say. He wrapped his arms around Kagome and held her close as he rest his head on top of Kagome’s. “Thank you,” he finally said.
Kagome gasped as handhands instinctively placed themselves on InuYasha’s chest. “For what,” she asked.
“For accepting who and what I am,” InuYasha replied. He then began to nuzzle Kagome’s hair.
Kagome began to blush at the way InuYasha was getting a little physical. To top it off, Kagome actually liked the way InuYasha was tenderly nuzzling her. Kagome moved her arms to hug the hanyou back. InuYasha responded with a content sigh. “InuYasha,” she began.
“Yes,” he replied.
“I’m wondering if I can get back to my world.”
InuYasha pulbackback from the embrace to look at the face of the girl in his arms. “Exactly how did you get here?” His question was one of pure curiosity.
“I don’t really know. I was pulled down a well near my home by Mistress Centipede. I climbed out and found myself in this time.”
“Where is this well,” he asked.
“Kaede said it was called the ‘Bone Eater’s’ well. I don’t know where it is though.” Kagome’s features became a bpsetpset as she said that.
InuYasha looked at her face as he spoke, “I think I’ve heard of it.”
Kagome looked up at the hanyou with hope in her eyes. Before InuYasha could react, Kagome wrapped her arms around InuYasha’s neck and spoke up, “Take me to where you think it is.”
InuYasha nodded as he dashed off, his arms around the waist of the girl he had been hugging. Kagome took advantage of this and began to rub InuYasha’s ears. InuYasha stopped at that instant. Kagome looked up at the hanyou curiously and began to pet the ears again. InuYasha responded by speaking up, “Don’t do that.”
“Why,” Kagome asked. She began to scratch the furry triangles again. “Its fun,” Kagome said with a giggle.
“Just don’t,” InuYasha said as he charged back into the woods.
Kagome sighed and just rested against the hanyou, not letting go of his neck or trying to pet his ears again. The rest of the journey was just a blur to her. But it felt like just a few minutes. The next thing she knew was thhe whe was being set onto her feet, within arm’s length of a well. Looking at it closer, Kagome saw that it was the well she came out of.
“This is it,” she exclaimed. Kagome leaned over the well to look down at the bottom. “Come on,” she said while jumping down into the well.
InuYasha tried to stop Kagome and catch her, but she was too fast. He looked down the well and shouted out, “Kagome!” He heard no response. Not knowing whether or not the young miko was hurt, jumpjumped down after her. What happened told him that the well was magic. He entered a void, filled with little blue lights, moving back and fourth between a bright light ahead of him and one behind him. InuYasha was flying through this space toward one of the lights. Once he came in contact with it, InuYasha found himself at the bottom of the well. He looked around to see that Kagome was waiting for him at the bottom.
“I see the well let you through,” Kagomed wid with a smile.
“It did,” InuYasha said as he walked over to the young girl.
“What are you-” Kagome’s question was cut off when InuYasha put a finger to her lips. He then gave her another hug and nuzzled her hair. Kagome then noticed that the hanyou was now purring softly. “InuYasha, what is going on,” Kagome asked softly.
“Mmmmm. . . smell good,” InuYasha murmured out. Kagome blushed.
Before anything more could be said or done, voices were heard above.
“Jii-chan,” a boy said, “I told you this is where Kagome fell.”
[Souta!] Kagome thought.
“But we have already searched here,” an older voice said.
[Jii-chan!] Kagome thought with more joy. Before another thought could be formulated, a flashlight was seen flashing down the well. Two gasps were heard when they saw Kagome and another person.
“Kagome,” Jii-chan asked in surprise. “Who is down there with you?!”
Kagome realized she was still in InuYasha’s arms and quickly pulled away with a blush. Looking back up, Kagome spoke, “Once I’m out I’ll tell you about it.” Kagome was about to climb ouen Ien InuYasha grabbed hold of her and jumped out of the well. Kagome looked around when she was placed on the ground standing up. She turned to see InuYasha standing to her left, arm around her waist. “I guess we better go inside,” she said.
* * *
“. . . And that’s when Jii-chan and Souta found us at the bottom of the well,” Kagome finished. She had jusent ent the last few hours explaining her experiences in Feudal Japan as everyone sat around the kitchen/dining table. Her mother did not know what to think. Souta was smiling like he had just been given several pounds of candy for dinner. Jii-chan was just sitting at the table drinking tea. All the while, InuYasha had been sitting next to Kagome, eyes closed as if he was meditating. Kagome knew better, the hanyou was just listening to everything, alert to anything.
Mrs. Higurashi was the first to recover. She stood up and walked over to InuYasha. When she was standing next to him, she began to scratch his ears. InuYasha’s eyes opened as his face contorted into one of severe annoyance. “I’m next,” Souta shouted as he ran up behind his mother.
“I suggest you stop that now,” InuYasha said threateningly.
Mrs. Higurashi stopped as she walked over to her daughter. “I think you need to take a bath,” she said to Kagome.
“I would really like one,” Kagome replied with a smile.
“What do you want from me old man,” InuYasha barked at Mr. Higurashi.
“I want you to leave my grand-daughter alone,” he roared back.
“What is that supposed to mean?”
Jii-chan glared and answered, “I saw the way you were holding my Kagome!”
“What way,” Mrs. Higurashi asked.
Kagome began to blush and started to leave the room but was stopped by a voice.
“No you don’t,” Mrs. Higurashi said, “I want to know everything!” Mrs. Higurashi had hearts in her eyes and was smiling. “Is InuYasha your boyfriend?! I hope he is!”
InuYasha did not know what was going on but he wanted to defend himself. “Hey, she wasn’t complaining. In fact, I know Kagome liked it,” InuYasha said.
“WHAT,” Jii-chan roared out.
“Umm,” Kagome tried to say while blushing.
“This is so wonderful,” Mrs. Higurashi cried out.
“I’m gona go take a bath, InuYasha can just rest in my room,” Kagome said while running out of the room. InuYasha followed a few seconds later.
* * *
Kagome sighed as she lay back in the tub, jewel still hanging around her neck. The warm water felt good on her body. She had just finished cleaning her body and hair and was now just enjoying the warmth of the water.
“Ha. . . nothing like a relaxing bath,” Kagome said. “Now only if InuYasha was in here with me.” Her mind began to wonder back to what Kaede had told her earlier about inu-youkai and hanyous.
{“Kagome,” Kaede said, “you should know that InuYasha has no mate.”
“What does that mean,” the young girl asked.
“I have noticed he has started to see ye as more than Kikyou’s reincarnation.”
Kagome began to become curious at this. “What are you trying to tell me?”
Kaede realized she would have to be blunt. “InuYasha may see you as a potential mate. I saw it in his eyes. However, I never seen that when my sister was alive. Something about you has cast a spell on him. Best not be surprised at any affections he may display.}
Kagome had noticed such affections when InuYasha began to nuzzle her hair. Kagome also noticed that her body was reacting in a strange way as well. She had noticed that InuYasha was becoming very desirable.
[Ok,] Kagome thought to her self, [I’m going to talk to InuYasha about this.] With that decided, Kagome stood up and out of the water and stepped onto the carpet placed down for those getting out of either a bath or shower. Standing there, Kagome examined her body in the mirror. Firm, round and supple breasts; well curved hips; thin waist; no fat; soft skin; natural lack of body hair and a lack of scars. Looking down at her crotch, Kagome saw a mat of hair that looked a bit out of control, but not too bad. Feeling her hair, both head and pubic, Kagome noticed that it was soft, silky and thick; practically perfect. Kagome concluded that her body was very well defined, beautiful and desirable to males. That made her smile softly.
Kagome then grabbed a towel and began to dry her body. After she was dried, Kagome dressed back into the miko robes, her uniform and undergarments left in the past and other clothes in her room. Kagome let her hair flow freely down her shoulders and back. Now that she was all cleaned up, Kagome left the bath room to get a good night's sleep.
As she entered her room, Kagome saw the hanyou lying down on her bed. He was asleep and on top of the blankets. Kagome smiled again as she closed the door and approached the bed.
“Wake up,” she said while shaking the hanyou’s leg.
InuYasha lazily opened his eyes. What he saw made him very aroused. “What do you want,” he asked with a bit of edge and exhaustion.
Kagome saw through his harsh demeanor and lay down next to the hanyou. “I was going to let you sleep in my room on the floor. Looks like I get you to sleep next to me,” she said happily.
InuYasha almost jumped up at the way she was acting. [She wants to share a bed with me?! Does she want to mate,] he wondered. Taking a risk, InuYasha pulled Kagome to rest her head on his chest as his arms wrapped themselves around Kagome’s waist. Kagome buried her face into InuYasha’s chest. The hanyou did not expect that. He was getting nervous and his little friend was starting to ache.
“InuYasha,” Kagome asked.
“Yes,” InuYasha replied.
“Do you see me as a potential mate?”
The question was not what the hanyou expected. He knew his body had all but told him to take Kagome and claim her, but she would need to be willing for that to happen. Gulping, InuYasha answered shakily, “Yes. . .”
Kagome smiled. “Is that why I have been feeling attracted to you,” she asked.
“I don’t know everything about mating,” he replied, “so I don’t know.”
“I may just be having my own desires. I’m not technically an adult yet,” Kagome said.
“Do you know what it would mean if I was to mate with you” InuYasha asked.
Kagome raised her head and looked at the hanyou. “Yes,” she replied with a smile, “we would be bout to each other for life.”
“Where did you learn that?”
“Kaede told me.” Kagome’s reply was accompanied by something that neither expected. She kissed InuYasha.
The kiss was short and chaste, but the emotions, message and feeling was not lost on either. During InuYasha’s daze, Kagome began to scratch InuYasha’s right ear with her left hand. The hanyou responded by purring and cocking his head to his left. That gave the girl better access to his ear.
“That feels good,” the hanyou said through the pleasure.
Kagome giggled as she let the hanyou just purr. “I see the puppy likes this,” she said in a ‘baby’ voice.
InuYasha nodded. “Don’t stop,” he said.
Kagome looked down InuYasha’s body and saw his very prominent arousal. She blushed and looked away. But the damage was done, Kagome was now aroused. Her scratching of the hanyou’s ear stopped as she looked back at his face.
“Why did you stop,” InuYasha asked. Kagome blushed and glanced back at the very erect member. InuYasha blushed after he noticed this as well. Before he could do anything, Kagome’s scent then hit his senses. What the hanyou smelled was the scent of Kagome’s arousal. That just made him hornier.
Kagome saw something in the hanyou’s eyes that was akin to staving off something. “What’s wrong,” she asked.
“I want to take you,” he said with a groan.
Kagome moved herself so that she was straddling InuYasha’s hips, his member prodding her entrance through the layers of clothing. She looked at the hanyou under her and leaned forward, giving him a kiss. Kagome quickly parted InuYasha’s lips and slipped her tongue into his mouth. As their tongues came into contact, both began to massage each other’s tongue. Kagome wrapped her arms around InuYasha’s neck as her hips began to grind into her soon-to-be mate’s.
InuYasha could not believe what Kagome was doing to him. She was kissing him, grinding her hips into his and acting as if she wanted to be his mate. [Does she want to be my mate,] InuYasha wondered. He had to ask.
Kagome found her self being pushed back by InuYasha. She had hoped they would be doing more, but the hanyou appeared to need something. “Is something wrong,” Kagome asked.
“What are you trying to do to me,” InuYasha asked.
“I’m just doing what feels right.”
“Stop, please,” InuYasha pleaded.
“Why?” Kagome did not understand the reason InuYasha was stopping her.
“Just please, I can’t explain it.”
Kagome nodded. “Ok,” she said. “If we aren’t going to have any fun, then let’s just get some sleep.” With that said, Kagome pulled the blankets out from under InuYasha and pulled them over their bodies’. Kagome then crawled back on top of the hanyou and fell asleep. InuYasha’s eyes soon closed not long after Kagome’s.

Kaede realized she would have to be blunt. “InuYasha may see you as a potential mate. I saw it in his eyes. However, I never seen that when my sister was alive. Something about you has cast a spell on him. Best not be surprised at any affections he may display.}
