The confrontation with Inuyasha was heart-wrenching, mostly because Inuyasha stupidly believed he could actually love Kagome and still do what he did. It was sad to hear him say she didn't understand him and that Kanna did just because they were borth hanyou. And it was infuriating that he didn't believe Kanna had set Kagome up to have an affair. He even called her to warn her that Kagome knew. I am beyond tickled that Kagome actually purified Kanna's demon half! That was brilliant! Perhaps Inuyasha will realize she was never just a "weak human." Can't wait to see his reaction to that! I also loved the way Sesshoumaru threw it in his face that Kagome enjoyed rough sex, which was supposedly Inuyasha's whole reason for cheating. Still, I hate it that Sesshoumaru still doesn't seem to understand he was being unreasonable. You really filled this fic with plenty of angst and drama. Great work!
Darn! So, Inuyasha and Kanna never talked? I was hoping Inuyasha would really wake up and see that his thinking had been completely screwed up and that Kanna played him and Kagome. I also thought Sesshoumaru would probably have respected what Kagome did. And he's just being quite a jerk in this chapter. So much pride. I really think you nailed his charcterization well, but it's so frustrating. LOL! The father's reaction was interesting. Considering he mated with Inuyasha's mother, I would think he would have been more condemning of Inuyasha for not mating Kagome. And he should also realize that his own relationship with Sesshoumaru's and Inuyasha's mothers might just be the reason why Sesshoumaru only considers mating a true committment. Now Mr. "I Have No Interest in Her" is going to be a father. Nice. ^_^
I just found this story and I wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying it. Normally, this isn't the type of plot I read because I have a hard time believing Kagome's character would have an affair, but you managed to write it in a believable way. And you've done a fantastic job of writing her, Sesshoumaru, and Inuyasha in character. Thanks so much for sharing your creativity and talent!
Chapter 6 was absolutely vital to this story. We finally see that Sesshoumaru is being driven by more than his animosity for Inuyasha and more than his desire for some good sex with Kagome. However, it's sad that he hasn't let Kagome in on any of his motivations, yet he is expecting her to respond like she knows what he is thinking. He gave her an ultimatum immediately after finding out she was extra upset by the new discovery of her best friend's betrayal. I hope he will realize his mistake. Can't wait for the coming confrontation with Inuyasha.
