great story! while i´m a bit sad that there wasn´t a 'real' happy ending i like this end as well, it gives the story a more realistic feel then when inu had suddenly stumbled over some treasure and had enough to buy her free....and you DID end on a positive note after all. i can clearly see her get free a few years down the road and move in at the temple, cleaning,cooking and taking care of the aging mushin while inu and miroku are away, and basically being inu´s wife whenever he´s at home. though i also like the idea of her getting pregnant with inu´s kid and getting kicked out of the teahouse because of it - yes i know those women knew the herbs to prevent pregnancies/to abort one, but who says they would work on youkai seed/babies? and surely carrying a mixed kid would be enough to chase her away, fathers debt paid or not, especially when her brood starts to attract youkai wanting to kill her before she can give birth to such an 'abomination'...in short, i´d LOVE to see a sequel ;-)

All I can say is Kagome is one lucky girl.
