It's been years since I've read some Inuyasha fan fiction, but suddenly out of no where I started to remember some of the really great stories that I read. There was a wonderful story where I remember Inuyasha was simply finished with living and it was such a powerful scene, but I couldn't remember the name of the story. One day I decided to come back to my old reading grounds and I see a recent update for "The Great Trail." All I could think was that the title seemed really familiar, so of course I decided to read it and of course it all came back to me. It was so wonderful to read it again and I'm so happy to hear that you are still working on it!!! With what you have set-up in this most recent chapter, I'm all too excited to read what comes next! Thank you for the gift of this story! All I can hope is that a certain guest continues to "visit" you and provide you with the motivation and inspiration to keep writing. If that's not enough, then know that there are people out there waiting to read your work!

Aside from the swords' incorrect names (it's Tenseiga and Sou'unga), the chapter is good. My favorite part in this is when Totosai makes his appearance (and his three-eyed cow - shouldn't forget that funny looking youkai beast). XD

I just spent all night til morning to read this damn wonderful ass story. I loved every moment of this. From the beginning when Inuyasha bout froze to death, the description of what the kiss actually and all the past flash backs. Everything this was awesome! I'm so glad I came across this story, it makes one missed night of sleep so worth it. Also, the sex scenes were amazing! Loved them to bits. So much emotion in this story. Really looking forward to whatever the next chapters may hold.

I would say that Inuyasha should have some time to get acclimated, but if he had too much time on his hands, he'd be bored and end up messing with other people again. You did say that there were things from his parents to look through, so that could take some time. Also, Sesshoumaru could offer to give him so personal lessons (take that however you will) and academic lessons as well. Maybe having Shippo with him and excited about being in the castle will convince him to stick around giving Sesshoumaru the opportunity to grow on him.

I still love this with all my being. The way you write is admirable! So smooth and easy to follow.
Inuyasha is really in character here. I Can totally see him the way you portray him...

I just started reading your fic and I am now completely in love with it......i mean I can't wait for your next update......and my vote is totally for mpreg especially if it's Inu-change......that would be so cute

I am utterly enjoying this story and was so happy that you have updated! It has been a while since I got to read a well thought out story!

So, a little bit of criticism and then I will give you my two cents on uke/seme rolls. The first three or so paragraphs of this update felt like you wanted us to know things and couldn't frame them from the characters point of view, so you just told us everything. Sometimes, we dont' need to know the entire explanation. Sometimes, you knowing it is good enough. You eventually settled into their voices, but it was odd. Not that I minded that much. It was just odd. I will explain better, or how you could change it after I reread it.

Now, for the uke/seme rolls, if Sesshoumaru is Inuyasha's strength and Inuyasha is Sesshoumaru is his only weakness,it would follow that Sesshoumaru would not be well suited to being the pregnant partner. when you are pregnant you are weak and reliant on your other partner. It is the nature of pregnancy. Your body takes care of the child, and your partner takes care of you. Sesshoumaru would have to become weak, in a sense, to be pregnant. That weakness would be unnatural for him. For Inuyasha, it would be a manifestation of his humanity. Besides, if Seshoumaru were pregnant and Inuyasha had passed any of his spiritual powers on to the child, the child would end up killing Sesshoumaru.

please don't get me wrong. I am not saying that pregnancy makes you a weakling. It doesn't. But it does make you vulnerable in ways that are hard to explain and are best understood from experience.

OMG!! I freaken LOVE Inuyasha as an uke. I totally agreee that you have to make this a MPreg with little Inuyasha as the mommy to be. SO HOT!! Keep up the awesome work!!

I totally loved it! Sesshoumaru is so sweet and considerate. well...except when he goes all feral. lol As for the seme versus uke...I prefer Sesshoumaru as a dominate partner, but I did read Ripe_wickeD_plUm series starting with Inglorious and it was a great blend of equals in the relationship. So you never know...it depends on the how the writer portrays them I guess. But for the mpreg, if there is one in a story, Inuyasha seems more likely to carry young, he seems more open to bonding naturally with young. And Sesshoumaru really doesn't look like the maternal type. lol Love your work and I was jumping up for joy to see that you posted this update. :) Can't wait for the next one.
