I actually think this is good as a one-shot. It captures that moment - the one where a victim of domestic violence has to make that decision. She finally realized just how bad it had gotten, how much he'd changed how he was with her. That realization leads to the need for the decision. And you've captured that anxiety, that moment of heart-pounding terror very well.
