You grieve.

That is all you can do. Hold your husbands hand, your friends and childrens too, and just grieve. Remember what your friend was like, smile and remember even the corniest of jokes, cook your family and friends a meal of your passed friends favorite foods, dedicating the meal in his memory/honor, and remember him together.

And don't EVER forget to breathe. When you feel like your world is crashing down, and you just want to scream at the world for being so damn unjust, don't forget to brethe. When you are at his funeral, or memorial, don't forget to brethe. Remind yourself of this, and eventually, the tightness in your chest will loosen.

You should also know that he knew that you cared, he wouldn't have been your friend if you didn't care about him.

Take as much time as you need to take. We will be here waiting for your return. If you need someone to rant at, and impartial third party, feel free to email me. I've been told that I am a good listener.

You are in my thoughts.

Ah, the wonders of intermediate chapters.

Short though it is, it still had the ability of bringing tears to my eyes at the emotion they were feeling. And I can't help but snicker with the last line of "I am not a damn cat!"

I'm happy that you are feeling better, and even happier that you updated again so quickly! But still, as much as I would miss another early update, you should rest and get better. Concentrate on healing, and the story will come, and we will wait (anxiously) for your return. ..... just don't take TOO long!! ;}

Until we meet again.

My deepest condolences go out to you in this time of sorrow. I wish I knew of a way to make the sadness go, but only time can do that. Just remember the good times you and your family have shared with your departed friend, and do not be afraid to cry when the need is there.
*hugs fiercely*
Just remember, you have fans out here who care, and are praying for you that you may find comfort and solace in your time of hardship. If you ever need someone to talk to, I am always willing to listen if need be.

I like the use of Cherokee in this story. One thing that I have noticed is that a lot of Cherokee sounds quite similar to Russian. When you consider that the Native Americans origionally came from the Siberian Steps and just crossed over to North America during the last Ice Age, I should not be suprising that there would be similarities. Especially since (I have heard) that Cherokee is not too far removed from the origional language they all spoke.

Ok, read Chapter 33, and I loved it. I know what it is like to adopt a sibling, thats hoe I got my two sisters. Although I have only brothers biologically, Brandy and Lisa are closer to me than my own blood. I can see how the two of them would develop such a bond so quickly.

Another wonderful chapter complete!

I like that you have introduced not one but the possibility of two other languages. Gaelic is a lyrical language, and a perfect choice for the healer of earth to be singing. Cherokee is an interesting laguage as well, and another good choice because of where the story is set, and because of whom it is that is using it, being part native and all.

I do wonder why Shandara doesn't like to be called Holly? I'm sure that you will inform us, your devoted readers, when the time is right. I wonder also, about it being so easy for Shandara to have "destroyed" her enemy. Ah ... that was only a "scouting" party, to see how much damage was caused to the shifter because of the previous days attack/battle.

As I have mentioned previously, your story is captivating. The moment I realize that you have added to Desperation, I forget whatever my original reason was for returning to AFF, and MUST read what you have added before I get on with whatever it was that I came here for, if I can remember what it was.

Your gift continues to shine through, and I am eager to read more. If you are hurt or sick, as you mentioned pain medication, please take he time to get better. We will be here awaiting your return, for however long it may take.

Until we meet again.

Another wonderful chapter.

You have a gift, and it is rare to see outside of a book store. I could feel Shandra's pain as she was experiencing her instinctive terror, and then her confusion and upset after she "snapped" out of her fear.

You have been doing an excellent job on establishing Shandra's weaknesses, and how she has a high "breaking point" as you put it, as well as how stubborn she is in fighting the "destiny" that has been handed to her by attemping to not allow Inu Yasha's pack to fight in her battle, worrying about more possible innocent casualties.

I am looking forward to your next chapter, and whatever surprises it is that you have coming.

Until we meet again.

Jesus! This was one powerful chapter. It brought out a lot of emotion in me and I found it difficult to read because of it. I'm glad I did though. I can relate to what Shadara is going through, having been hurt myself. Thank you for this chapter. It was, in a way, a healing experience for me. *hugs*

Once again, I am a happy man, now that I have read some more of this wonderful story. I can go to bed now finally now that I have read this chapter.
