If I was Inuyasha I'd write up a backdated gift to Miroku.
"I Prince Inuyasha here by bequeath my concubine Sango to Lord Miroku on this day of[insert date before kiss took place] Sango will continue to reside in her old room until her Miroku can arrange proper living quarters for her at his own residence.”
