I know I read the first few chapters of this awhile ago...and I have no idea why I didn't review then. I love -LOVE!- this story. I love that Kagome and Inuyasha don't immediately hook up. I love, especially, how you've written Kouga -I get tired of him being a snotty asshole to everyone, and that whole "My woman" stuff all the time gets irritating too. I like how affectionate he is toward Kagome, but you keep him in-character with his attitude toward Inuyasha. I have to say that this is the most interesting version of him I have ever read.
I don't think you should worry about Inuayasha being OOC. For one, since this is an AU story and he's older, I think exploring the differences in his attitude and responses to things is a necessity. I think he cusses just enough and still has enough of that stubborn I-don't-give-a-shit attitude to make him who he is.
I can't really think of any con-crit to give you other than minor spelling/grammatical mistakes -all of which could be fixed with a good round of editing. I was nearly in tears when Kagome found out her brother was dead, and was just as mad as she was at Inuyasha's description of her as "nothing special" (what a jerk!!). And I think I was holding my breath when she and Kouga kissed at the end of the last chapter. For whatever reason, even though I'm a die-hard Inu/Kag fan, that didn't upset me. It just seemed so natural that it should happen.
It's been awhile since I've read an Inuyasha fanfic that I'm completely enthralled with. I can't wait to see where you take this story.

Keepin us on edge eh? Well, i can't wait to see what happens in the story next, so keep up the good work! Until next time!
