seriously, you're freakin awesome. do you have any kids? well, you nailed the proud mama aspect perfectly. it brought tears to my eyes and made me think of my own son. bravo.

And to answer your question, yes as far as I know the Trial Mark is a new twist to the old 'Mating Mark' turn. I really like your story and am looking forward to reading your next chapter ( hint, hint, can I borrow your idea for MY next chapter?).
