Methinks Midoriko's soul was not entirely trapped in the jewel, eh? Considering Kagome's powers and all, and her previous incarnation...just guessing! Regardless, another good chappie! Can't wait for more!

Freaking great, although I had half expected the miko to be Midoriko, but then, that's been done before, eh? Nice dichotomy between his situation and the hypocritical mistake that killed Inu no Taisho. There's already a solid depth to this story, a marvelously angsty undercurrent ripe with the potential of a fulfilling emotional romance. Amazing start, can't wait to read more!
My only beef would be a few grammatical errors that make some paragraphs hard to read, but again, your style and plot are excellent.
