Miroku! What?! Lol. Loved that surprise at the end. And I'm stoked that Inu is on his way back!
The end of this chapter might have been dialogue heavy, but the beginning, with Inu, was full of absolutely lovely prose. Your descriptions there were quite nice.
Pfft, I never plot anything out before I start writing--I just jump in and pray it will all work itself out in my head eventually, so I understand the need to sit and think about things for awhile before getting them all written down. I'm glad to know what all this business with Naraku is about, though. And, as always, I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

While I have always been an avid reader I never thought I would be reading fanfiction. At least, not until four years ago when I found myself in need of the ending that hadn’t yet come to inuyasha and thus I became acquainted with it. I soon began devouring a plethora of distinctive stories that followed these character archetypes that I’d grown a strong fondness for. I went through and read the majority of the well written inu-kag stories on this site as well as some others on mediaminer and another private one. Rather quickly I learned that the alternate universe stories were really the only ones I was interested in. After all, there are only so many ways Takahashi’s story could be continued without other writers doing virtually the same thing. AU on the other hand has endless potential.
From all of the Inuyasha fanfiction I’ve read, I can honestly say that A Fool’s Redemption is the most unique AU in this genre. While there is a nicely sized grouping of stories that can also be classified as unique, yours is truly something special. You’ve gone the extra mile to fashion a world for your story that really sets it apart. You’ve created a full bodied narrative that is well written, hashed out and completely your own.
It’s been at least two+ years since I grew out of the need to read these stories and while I’ve started a few of the newer ones, there are only five authors who have continually been able to keep that spark alive for me. If it weren’t for this story and shades of gray I would have stopped checking in to this site a long time ago.
I absolutely love your story, especially your take on how Inuyasha came to be & how Kagome found herself connected to him. Even though that all happened in the past and the story penned for us deals specifically with the aftermath, it’s a very strong foundation that has given way to a beautifully crafted story. I genuinely appreciate all the effort and time you put into your work, thank you for sticking with it for so long. I can’t tell you how excited I get when I come on here and see that you’ve put out a new chapter. It really makes my day, even when the end of it leaves me yearning for the next one.

i'm one of those consistently silent readers... shame on me for not reviewing, i'm working on that. ok, on to the review! i have to say as much as i've loved this story from the start it's so much more intriguing than i expected. What at the start seemed to be a pretty straight forward tale of redemption found & love revealed is riddled with plot twists & character depth i hadn't initially expected. i'm hooked an eagerly await the full unraveling of this riveting story. Thanks for sharing.

I totally guessed that that was Miroku the first time he was described! But then I thought that it was weird that he was working for Naraku and was so un-Miroku-like, so I blew off the idea... Oh well. What's going on with him?! I'm so curious. I was checking almost every day for an update and now it looks like I'm going to be doing that again because of the cliff hanger. :) I can't wait for another chapter. Keep up the good work!!
