nice job on this one. every chapter is getting better and better. I'm still amazed you put out so much material in such a short time. It happens though. Sometimes the stories take on a life of their own.

I like the idea of a spell, very interesting. A note on slowing things down. Remember the characters have five senses. while you don't have to use all 5 at the same time, one or two can help you set a mood or setting. The descriptions of the way her Miko powers washed over him was good and same with the color of the trail they followed. find more places to add in stuff like that. If you haven't read it yet and like vampire stories, try the Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton. It is all writen from Anita's pov. It might give you some suggestions on how to slow down things down a bit.

This is awesome. You are doing great. One thing, I know it's hard to write a whole heck of a lot, but do yourself a favor. Set a goal. Say, try writing five pages worth without doubling back on your story. (i.e. the switching back and forth between Kagome's and Sesshoumaru's point of view) Then if you feel you can do it, write six, then seven as more things come to you. For instance, I always try to make sure I write at least seven to eight pages. If I go past that, then yipee! It'll make you feel good in the end to know that you have given your readers something to look forward to. Also, you don't have to write it all in one sitting, take your time, although some of us are sitting on our hands waiting for the next chapter to come out...I hope this helps and it doesn't offend in any way. Continue writing, you have a lot of potential.
