My dear friend Cathy. I...actually had to stop several times while reading this last chapter. I think that I must have read Miroku's Letter at least 5 times before I could finally get to the ending (I couldn't see clearly).
My husband, Serge, actually asked me if the story was really that good, really worth the while in finishing it, seeing as I couldn't stop crying (he's not a cry-baby like me). And, believe me, cry I did. There was never a better ending to a story as what you gave to this one. I'm not only in awe of what you wrote, I...have nothing else to say that can explain in words exactly what I feel. I AM TRULY SPEECHLESS!
Call me a sentimental old fool, I don't care, but, this ending is as good, no, better, than any movie that can be seen in theaters or on T.V.
I gotta go. Serge has taken pity on me and has decided to make our evening meal, since I really wanna re-read this chapter again. I hope you never stop writing, Sweetie, 'cause you are way too awsome. And this coming from a Grandmother of 3.
DANIELLE STEELE, MOVE OVER!
Keep on howlin' Sweetie.
Luv ya & leave ya JA NE.

I enjoyed the last chapter. It tied up all the loose ends, it left the reader satisfied, and while we don't get to see how Inuyasha and Kagome learn to live in the modern times without any escape to the past, it's not needed. The reader can envision a bit of what might happen next on their own, and each reader might have different stories, so this end is a fitting conclusion. The fact that Miroku and Sango are Kagome's ultimate ancestor is a nice twist, and was pulled off wonderfully. The journal through out the passage of time dating to right before Miroku's death through 1895 showed the evolution of that well. I liked how Sess and company turned to the shrine for sanctuary when they needed it, and that it was noted down. Considering how Jiji acts in the anime/manga concerning demons, it seems ironic in a way, and yet it suits everything that happened in the past, present, and future for all those involved. It's nice to know that even old dogs can learn new tricks, considering it took Sess such a long time to learn the lesson of true compassion and humility. I can only assume that without Rin's involvement, Sess would have never evolved in either the manga or your story. The way you rounded off his harsher edges fit his character, because while he's able to ask for help or is a bit more tolerant, he still has his fundamental personality and values. Besides, we all know as bad ass as Sess is when we first meet him, he's still not as bad as he wants us to think he is. I'm glad that Inuyasha got a nice gift from his brother, and that it did make Sesshomaru laugh when Inuyasha wondered if it was a good thing. It seems that 500 years has softened him a bit. I think it's interesting that Inuyasha's hair remains silver when he wars his concealment, though. Sess's hair is black when concealed, so it's kinda strange that Inuyasha's wouldn't be as well. I'm also glad to see Inuyasha getting on with Kagome's grandfather. He truly has found the family he's always wanted and needed. And instead of only having Kagome's family, he finally has the brother he's always wanted (well for the most part, I'm sure those two will ALWAYS have arguments from time to time), so he's not entirely outcast by his own blood, either. I thought it was rather fitting for Shippo to be a magician. He seems the type to go into that field, especially considering his powers. It's suiting that his livilihood would be tricking people. Besides, it's just nice to see that he grew up, too. And finally, I love the fact that Sess hates shopping, and that Inuyasha feels the same way. I bet they even make the same face when it's brought up. Too funny. I look forward to reading your other work as always, too!

Hey, Sweetie. I've sooo been looking forward to this chapter. I just haven't had as much time as I would have liked to read it in one go. With my doc appointements, hospital treatments, and, well, it took me up to this long to get through it. I just want to let you know that I was thoroughly enticed from start to finish. You, Alterfano, and Inugrrrl have similar ways of creating stories that captivate. I could actually viualise the story as it unfolded while I read.
Inugrrrl, Rocks, Alterfano Rolls, And You, my dear friend...HOWL!
Keep on Howlin' those fantastic writes of yours.
Luv ya & leave ya. JA NE.

Alright, while I wait on the beta, I thought I'd take the time to review finally. Well, it seems Naraku's gotten a bit hasty in his “kill of the incarnation that pissed me off today,” because he didn't do it right! Tsk. That's not the Naraku we know. He should be used to this betrayal thing. Somehow I don't think he enjoys it as much when he's the betrayee and not the betrayer, or making others betray each other. If he had only gotten a hobby, like knitting (He is a spider, I can see it...). And it seems Naraku's bad day is only going to get worse. He still believes that Sess killed his brother and Kagome. Honestly, he should keep up with the day's news a bit better. Finally, Shippo does something worth noting instead of whining. It's about time!! Good idea to have him in the Well so Kagome can get the shards right away. And now Kagome's wearing her beautiful fire rat. I still like the idea that hers is green rather than red. As nice it is to see her in Inuyasha's, green is still a better color for her. Interesting how both Jaken and Sesshomaru are trying to save Kouga from Naraku. Just the history with Rin (and I'm sure they both know it was Koga's wolves) makes it so interesting to see. Interesting that Naraku hasn't quite figured it out yet. He's so certain that Kaede has the shards and that Kagome and Inuyasha are dead. I'm sure he'll get the surprise of his life soon. And he taunted so wonderfully, only to be the one fooled this time. How fitting.Byakuya's not all that smart, taking Rin like that. If Naraku didn't manage to kill him, Sess will. I'm glad they're done fighting the fake Naraku. He seems to enjoy using that technique most. And Inuyasha and Kagome arrived just in time. I think Naraku's bad day is going to get worse. Yep. Most certainly worse. Love how he finally underestimated his enemies, all at the wrong time. And it's extremely fitting that the curse he put on Miroku is what finally ends him. I don't think he would have ever expected it. It's nice to see the echoes of the manga death for Kikyo here, with her directly saying to Kagome that she is powerful. It's a nice touch. Nice to see Shippo ask nicely, and even ask if Inuyasha was alright, rather than getting all whiney when he found out Kagome was exhausted. Baaad Jaken telling Rin that she's not wanted. He's so mean to her when he shouldn't be. I know he's worried about Sess, but still, that's not nice. Funny Koga. He knows that humans cook their food, but nothing about the skinning part. Silly him. I think it's funny that Sess is all anxious about a conversation from 500 years past about Rin leaving him when she's sitting right there with him in the future. He's so cute when he's insecure. Change that. He's sexy when he's insecure, cause that was a nice hot lemon for them, all because he was feeling a bit nervous about the past. Interesting that he didn't want to have children when she did, and she told him she'd leave if he didn't want her children. Good for her, and of course he relented and gave her what she wanted. He was silly to think she wouldn't want them. That's a nice wish Kagome made, and not a cliché one about the well staying open forever or what not. And I like the fact that it is so unselfish and so like Kagome. I think Koga finally claiming Ayame is a bit true to wolf mating. They're not humans, and I think the fact that he did it in front of the whole pack as its alpha means a lot. It's nature for wolves to know who is who and where in the pack order, and he's proving to everyone around that Ayame is his and that if anyone should dare to touch what is his they'll be sorry. I think that was a good way to show the claiming of a mate for a wolf demon, actually, rather than him whisking her off to take care of matters alone. I'm glad Inuyasha didn't let Kagome stew over the decision on which time to stay in. They've come so far to regress to that. I'm glad Miroku is going to be faithful and wants to show her that with the ceremony. Good for him. Ooo, do I detect an all grown up Shippo? Baad Miroku for getting all drunk at his wedding. You know, in my story, we call that Alornish behavior. That's how they celebrate weddings, after all. I know that Miroku is still uncertain if it's real, but still...And now Shippo's scared of Sess again. Poor boy. He just has to get over that and realize what most everyone else has, he's a big puppy dog under it all, unless you get on his bad side. Oh no. The drunken villagers are pissed about Inuyasha and Kagome being together. Not good. That could be very bad for their health. I'm glad Miroku apologized, although what happened wasn't all his fault. It's too bad they didn't get a proper good bye. I think I like Akane already, although I must admit, I keep thinking of Ranma when I read the name, lmao. I can't help it. And I love how even now Sess doesn't take no for an answer. I look forward to the next chapter, and I am curious to see how you wrap it all up.
