Interesting...

You have ideas, but an odd selection process going on, and a rather shakey understanding of character. I mean, it's cool that you don't like Sesshomaru, I can't expect everyone to love the same characters I do, but why waste a fic on a character you don't like?

'As deep as a puddle' I suggest, if you wish to try another fic using a character you don't respect, do a little research. I'm a character creator and analyst by prfession (yes, i actually get PAID to do that... I have THE most awesome job) and on a professional level, i beg to differ with your initial evaluation. Sesshomaru is, from study of current available dubbed anime and translated manga, the most multifaceted, strangely motivated character of the lot. i could write a bloody thesis on the exciting, conflicting and always surprising nature of the Daiyokai. Sadly, I haven't been called to evaluate the psychological impact of InuYasha on children yet... So I haven't had a chance.

Though I can possibly understand why someone with no ability to analyse character might not understand... his character is well sheilded, which happens to also be an aspect of his character

Anyway, my apologies, i do tend to go on a bit in reviews... my point is, you have writing potential. You have ideas, but i think you let yourself down here due to lack of passion for your subject. i admire you for trying to use someone you dislike, but it would probably have been wiser not to.

I loved this :) It was really good..would like to see what happens to poor InuYasha 'when hes old enough'..

He's nothing more then a selfish child trapped in an adult's body. He is about as deep as a puddle.

I wish you would rewrite this fic instead of letting it lie in the dust. It's the first Sesshou spank fic I've ever seen, got its problems, but the idea is just incredibly hot. What everyone said about it is pretty much true, but it's got so much potential. What would make this story so much sexier is if you put LOTS more detail into it, maybe kept Sesshy more IC. Just saying "it hurt" is not enough, we want to know what the scene actually looked like. The humiliation is really what makes a spank fic yummy, you know.

Am I the only person who thought this fic should have been a angsty, steamy BDMS scene instead of an abusive dad whaling on a little boy? The way it's described, it's way less sexy that it could be. That's why people read spank!fics: because they're hot. This is too bland, vague, and predictable to turn anyone on. It's practically an extended summary statement, like you just churned it out to satisfy someone else.

That said, revise it! It's actually an incredibly attractive concept which I've never seen done before. I'd love to see Sesshoumaru get a good spanking--hey, that'd be so damn smexy. You have the talent to pull it off, you just need to GET INTO IT! Don't let this story die!

Ditto on what Peri said. Inutaishou comes across as abusive rather than as a stern but loving father. He didn't really need to hurt Sesshomaru that much. Most parents are disturbed when their punishments make their children cry, but Inutaishou acts like he's enjoying it. He should just...NOT have threatened to disown him and humiliated him in front of Izayoi. It's not like his brutally beating Sesshomaru is going to convince him not to hate Inuyasha and that his father still loves him. And he, a helpless child, is "selfish and callous"? Gee, Inutaishou, who was it that raised him? And Izayoi's too kind and gentle to enjoy watching a young boy "sobbing and pleading".

The first time I glanced through this story, I thought Sesshomaru was five or six. That's how little description there was. And the long strings of "SMACK" are REALLY annoying. And--what a minute--is this story half finished? It looks like Inutaishou was going to talk to Sesshomaru then changes his mind and goes to bed. Now that's really bad parenting since Sesshoumaru was upset enough to run away or attack Inuyasha again. C'mon, I've seen your other work, I know you can do better than this.
