okay, see this is why I love reading your stuff. SO MATURE. god bless you. I mean, honestly, flame wars are incredibly annoying and take away from the story itself. i commend you for the way you handled this situation. well done.

Don't let idiots get you upset honey. You have a damn fine story here! I think everyone deserves a chance to read it! But everyone does have a right to speak there opinion too. So don't take it to personal dear, I know I don't when I get flamed.

You're a wonderful author and obviously a very forgiving person, and I admire you very much for that. However, I don't think you need to apologize for something that's beyond your control like your story being moved up to the first page simply because you did some editing. It's considerate of you if you do start putting warnings in your summeries that you're not updating, just editing, but I feel it's not necessary. The majority of your readers probably just shrug and move on.

As for those like Anon, they probably don't have anything better to do, and if they're petty enough, they'll do as Anon did and attack authors about the least little things. Unfortunately, it's reviewers like Anon that drive the good authors away and leave the rest of the fanfiction community all the poorer for it.

So please, know that there are people (myself included) out there who love your writing and would be very sad if something like this ever managed to drive you away. You did the right thing in trying to keep as few involved as possible in this mess, and it's Anon's fault you had to post this in your story by not leaving an email address (not to mention rather cowardly - if you're goiing to critisize someone, at least have the decency of leaving a means by which that someone can contact you back privately rather than wasting everyone's time arguing publicly).

I sincerely hope that this mess doesn't discourage you from writing and I look forward to future chapters (however long it may take! ;-).

YM,

BRAVO! . . . and well handled. I am not associated with the ongoing rude reviewer but I will never understand why someone, who would give such a hateful email, would not leave their email address. As a lurker/reader/fan, I give signed reviews, but usually I do not leave my email address unless the author requests it somehow, and then I prefer to personally email to that author. I am always afraid to leave my email because I have no idea who has access to it or will be able to view it. This is an effort to avoid spamming, undesirable advertisements, and virus's, etc. . . (did I spell that correctly?) There is absolutely no cause for meaness. You are a much better and tolerant person than me. Cynbad146

Jess- I think you've been doing things smashingly. I, too, have encountered the problem with a page moving forward, but I have NEVER heard of someone having such issue with it. It just happens to be the way the system works. It's quite the sad situation when someone has so much free time that they can waste it with such random drivel rather than constructive ideas. In all honesty, I have specifically made corrections to a story that I wrote out of season, so that readers would be able to see it at a different time of the year. Specifically, I wrote a Christmas based fic that I did update specifically around Christmas time, so that readers would be able to more easily access it at what I felt was the right time. It wasn't for reviews, but more motivated by what I thought would be helpful to someone who might enjoy it. Perhaps it was wrong of me, but the search engine on AFF does not account for summary info, only title and author name, so someone looking for an Easter story, or Christmas, or Halloween, if something specific to the holiday was not in the title, would not be in the search return.
I'm sorry I haven't reviewed lately- I added your story to my updates on mm.org because I haven't had time to check daily for updates on aff like I used to, and mm just doesn't respond as user friendly to me.
For what it's worth, I read as soon as a new posting appears and I've never been disappointed- things are really moving now and the last few chapters have had some exciting developments. I eagerly await the next chapters!
CONGRATS on the award. I understand the warm fuzzies the simple nomination brings and the desire to share the news with your readers. You want to shout to the world that you were recognized and it feels so good to have something that you have invested so much of yourself in recognized as worthwhile. For those of us with even minor self-esteem issues- and most of us have some insecurities- to be recognized means validity and reassurance. Like a cute guy saying you look good after a new hair cut. As for editing, well, if your flamers want to criticize errors and then complain when you fix it, I say- Phhht! Good work and don't let it get you down.
In other news- I may acually have a new chapter up soon (I know, it's been, like, 8 months), so keep an eye out. :)
Best wishes- Jen, aka CPH

Just ignore that prick who's insulting u. they obviously have no grasp on the concept of how this website is programmed to move stories up to the front page, so just ignore the ignorant asshole. love your story, hope u update soon.
